Who the hell writes Kerrry's speeches?
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 01:20 PM by lil-petunia
What he should have said:

"President Bush has failed to safeguard America."

What he read:

"President Bush has failed to safeguard this country at this time, to the greatest extent possible, given all of the various options staring us in the face."

Come on, guys. The average voter rolls his eyes every single time you drone on like that.
To paraphrase Jon Stewart, "Stop. Stop, stop, stop, stop. Who is your audience? The undecideds. You have to SPEAK THEIR LANGUAGE!"

Otherwise, I love how bush preaches no more partisan attacks, while Cheney says a vote for Kerry will guarantee a nuke going off in a US city. Shithead.

4. Trust me, I don't seek bushisms from Kerry.
all I want is shorter sentences, more to the point, and not a comma in sight.

People are getting burned out. The shorter the message, the better it is received. Period.

So to his script writers, speachifiers, and oratorical scribes all, WATCH THE FUCK WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Don't blow this for us. We have the big mo, so keep the juices flowing.

7. Yeah, we need to cut that shit out.
I'm kidding, but kidding on the square. The problem is that we take it too far.

During an open, thoughtful discussion, it's important to be reasonable and fair. It's important to hear all sides and consider all options. But campaign speeches are not that time. That's when you have to bring the fucking hammer down. And it needs to start happening.

8. I have no problem with Kerry's speeches being a bit hard to understand.
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 01:27 PM by IronElder
In fact I feel that he still has a few days to be as vague as possible and here is why. If he starts hitting every ball out of the park at this point the Repugs will have counters for his arguments in place a week from the election. If he waits until a week before the election and then starts hitting homers then they don't have time to figure him out..He gets the undecided vote...Election won..

11. I've heard the man talk in private. During these events he is NOT being
himself. He is impressive, smart, honest and aware of stuff that Bush has never even considered. He will be an awesome president. But we have to get there first.

Short. to the point. Hammer the message home.

It is a winning combo, kind of like chicago italian beef in Vienna roll, dunked in juice, with a spicy italian sausage added, topped with hot peppers, mustard, onion, cheese, served hot.

Damn, I'm hungry.
