Old Book Scares Up Frightening Logic
The words on the back cover of a controversial book written almost a decade ago by a retired Central Intelligence Agency analyst still frighten and anger people, but they may be truer now than when they were first printed. What were those words?

“Washington isn’t the problem — democracy is.”

Sounds like pretty radical stuff until you read on.

Countries that allow themselves to be administered “by individuals whose only qualification is that they are able to win a popularity contest will go from failure to failure,” according to Patrick E. Kennon, and they ultimately will vanish from the scene.

1. The book misses a VERY salient point
which is that to even be considered for admittance to the two man popularity contest, you must have the blessing and permission of those oligarchs that really control the national government.

2. Rule by the power elite didn't work so well the past 4 years.
The traitors in power now WERE installed by economics and authority, and it was a miserable failure.

I still support democracy, thank you very much. It is a little more nuanced than "a popularity contest".

3. As Winston Churchill said:
"Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried."

No offense to the author of this book, but there is NO perfect form of government, only ones that serve the needs of the people as best as possible. According to recent history, the form that is best, at this time, is democracy. Its not perfect, but is infinitely better than all the ones tried before or since.
