3. Aw Shit
Why didnt anyone post some tv links or notification that this was taking place. Surely C-Span would've been covering it.

5. I posted notification yesterday. Sorry it was missed.
C-Span never covers his debates. He and Pat Buchanan had one at Penn last night.

6. I go to Ohio State
I would have been there (because it was listed as an event for an FYE--First Year Experience--which is required for all freshmen...the requirement is to attend at least four), unfortunately, I tried to sign-up too late.

One of my dorm mates was there, though. He gave me a complete rundown on how Dean shined. :)

7. Well, tell us the good stuff. I hope he outshone Dole, for sure.
There is nothing on it yet, but what I found at Yahoo.

9. Dean, Dole turn to wit, not barbs....Columbus Dispatch.
http://www.dispatch.com/election/election-president.php?story=dispatch/2004/10/21/2535053.html

SNIP.."Before their debate, Dean and Dole had dinner together Downtown at Brownstone on Main, joined by OSU students who helped organize the event, which was planned to raise awareness among campus voters.

After the debate, there was a brief reception, then the former candidates went their separate ways. Dole was going back to Washington, OSU spokeswoman Shannon Wingard said. Dean was spending the night in Columbus before heading to Cincinnati, she said.

"They were very civil. I liked that,'' said Maria Gentile, 21, as she watched Dole step into a large sedan parked in front of the student union. An OSU police officer had given the driver a parking ticket. They ought to have some respect. That's Bob Dole getting in that car,'' Gentile said.

A few minutes earlier, Dean had left in a Jeep Cherokee. A student who said he was a Dean supporter shouted, "Not an SUV, Dr. Dean! Not an SUV!''

13. "No screaming at Dole-Dean debate" good write-up at Lantern.
http://www.thelantern.com/news/2004/10/21/Campus/No.Screaming.At.DoleDean.Debate-775847.shtml

SNIP..."Bob Dole's humor and Howard Dean's charm provided a lighter atmosphere, said Undergraduate Student Government President Aftab Pureval.

"I don't think it compares at all to the presidential debate," he said. "It was so much more relaxed and casual. At this debate, both candidates were being themselves. We heard a lot about the parties working together and leaving partisan politics behind so they can work on the issues that matter. During the presidential debates, it's all about making sure your opposing candidate looks worse. This was an honest talk. There wasn't any skewing of information, there wasn't any exaggeration or hyperboles. It was all about the fundamental differences between the two parties and it was less about politics. They focused more on engaging us as youth and educating us with the differences between the parties."
