Amazing film.
One thing that chilled me was a scene with a larger man in the backseat of a car with the last name Hamill...wasn't this guy beheaded?

His captors didn't guard him well; he escaped several times, but kept returning because food and water were scarce. The army finally found him during his last break for freedom. Since his captors treated him well, he wasn't very newsworthy.

4. He immediatly struck me as a defiant, never surrender type. |

He didn't look even rattled, let alone scared. Just sort of pissed.
Pretty damn cool.

I've only looked at a few vidcaps from the beheadings, and I could have sworn I recognized him.
The other moment that horrified me (among others) was the footage of the Japanese hostages whom were being threatened with being burned alive. I'm so happy they were released.
Bush is responsible or obliquely responsible for so much violence and death. The part of F9/11 that I hadn't quite put together was how much of a *conflict of interest* our president has between running his business (or paying off his cronies) and running the country. How in the world could someone like that keep their job? Our militia should not be used to settle old scores or to secure the interests of corporations.
Vote Bush out.

7. I watched it 3 times in a row the day I got it |

And while there are many emotional moments the part that absolutely crushes my heart is in the beginning during which time after time the black vote was dismissed over and over. But there was that one woman, she stood in complete defiance and said, "And I don't care that no senator signed it!" Chokes me up and hurts my heart every time :-( Bless her brave spirit.

8. Lila at the barricaded White House... |
|
was quite powerful as well.
I was surprised at the structure of the narrative. Moore brought out the epic storyline behind this whole four-year charade. One of the most compelling films of our time with the sweep of Dickens or Hugo. I wish it were just a fictional story.

13. Yes she was and yes she is wonderful. |

Sweet, beautiful Lila and her family. But the disenfranchised voters being turned away and ignored, like Michael Moore said, it was the part about being told to just sit down and shut up again, that cuts me straight to the core for all of America and her People. How many more times must this same lesson be learned? I was hoping we would be a little more 'evolved' by now. It's frustrating x(
I wish it were all fictional too

9. The most powerful couple of scenes... |
|
... concerned some of the women of Iraq wailing over the deaths of their family members. It really bust up the media's dehumanization of the Iraqi, or for that matter, all Middle-Eastern, people.
There were several people crying in the theater -- not something I see that often.
