What I mean is, conservatives always try to portray liberals as pie-in-the-sky dreamers. Buncha idealist hippie types who think that if we all just somehow join hands and pray real hard, we can right the wrongs of the world. Sittin´ around readin´ Marx & Engels under an ole beat-up poster of Che Guevara talkin' about "single-payer health insurance" and "global test" and singin´ "Kumbaya" like that´s somehow gonna change things.
Turns out, this is yet another case of
winger projection syndrome, perhaps the most serious one:
Suskind showed that it´s actually the
conservatives who are the ones who think they can just close their eyes and click their heels three times and say "There´s no place like The Homeland!" and somehow everything´ll turn out just fine. Sittin´ around reading Leo Strauss under an ole beat-up poster of Jesus talking about "empire" and "faith" and singin´ "No Child Left Behind" like that´s somehow gonna change things.
Wake up and smell the reality, Republicans.
