A Sox World Series win could bode well for Kerry ...
Kerry would pick up a lot of great free press if Boston wins the World Series.

The story already has great symbolism: the team from the Dem's convention city beat the team from the Repub's convention city.

If Houston wins tonight, the symbolism will be perfect: Kerry vs. Bush.

If the Sox were to beat the curse, can you imagine the press Kerry would get? I can almost see the photos ...

After three games, the Bosox rose from the dead to win the pennant. If they win World Series for the first time in--how many years?--well, how could they NOT see that as a sign from God of a Kerry endorsement?

On edit: According to my research, they haven't been in a World Series since 1986, (when my then-beloved New York Mets beat them) and haven't won one since 1918.

2. I agree
I think Houston winning tonight will have the entire country watching the olympics, it will be the Red State against the Blue State, the Democrats against the Republicans.

It will most likely be the most energized World Series and now matter what, will ROCK THE VOTE BIG TIME, no matter what team wins, its going to lead right into the elections.

6. I've been rooting for the Cardinals too ... until now
As stupid as it sounds, I really think that baseball could swing a lot of voters. One thing is for sure, Kerry had better be sitting in Row 1 in the first game. Each game he attends will swing votes.
