I thought andrewsullivan.com was a conservative Blog |
|
But I took a look at it today and it seems to have alot of antibush posts. Was my assumption wrong?

...that's how Brock started out, and now Media Matters is a great tool, and he (like Arianna Huffington) has become a great warrior for the left-of-center cause...

3. He has become increasingly disenchanted with Bush... |

...and the "final straw" was the adoption of the homophobic platform plank at the RNC convention. He's still quite capable of being a conservative prick though...

Sully's a very conservative gay. bush let him down, and he's grumpy about it.

Should be against Bush. I don't agree with Conservatives on most issues, but most Conservatives don't condone fascism, irresponsible spending and reality-denial.

7. I don't think one can assume about Mr. Sullivan |
|
He reminds me of a line from Orwell, who was talking about Jonathan Swift (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Repelled by the perceived inadequacies of the left, he embraced a sort of perverse Toryism." I think he holds his beliefs sincerely, but from what I can glean, they do not fit neatly into the left/right, conservative/liberal dichotomies that we are force-fed by stuff like "Crossfire."

Sully changed his assessment of Bush over one thing and one thing only -- the single issue that made him vulnerable in Happy Republican Land. It tooks years of beating from the right to do it. He'd have these comical dark nights of the soul whenever the Repubs had a Santorum moment, only to come back Monday the ardent cheerleader, chipper as ever. He's a selfish, disengenuous bastard.
