Abdul Henderson (from F 9/11) appeared with Michael Moore tonight!

Quite a moving evening in Philadelphia with Michael Moore tonight. He brought out Abdul Henderson to speak. Abdul is the soldier who says he will not return to Iraq if ordered to do so. Other speakers were the mother of Sgt. Sherwood Baker (who was killed in Iraq). His brother, Dante Zappala has addressed audiences at other stops on the tour. Finally, they had Mike Hoffmann (not sure about the spelling), who belongs to an Iraqi Veterans For Kerry/Against Bush group. (I forget what the second part was.)

No pro-Bush protesters, but after the guest speakers, some people tried to speak up in support of Mumia Abu-Jamal. Michael asked them to be quiet out of respect for those who had just spoken. (However, he incorrectly assumed that everybody in the audience supported Abu-Jamal.)

Finally, if you are the girl in the big red sweater who was sitting behind me (or if you know her): SHUT THE FUCK UP. You know a lot. Okay, we get it. You're also an annoying little shit who should have just stayed home and spoken to yourself, because you obviously already know everything. Why do I always end up sitting near these dipwads?

In conclusion, go see Michael Moore on this tour if you can.

2. Correction on Michael Hoffman...

Mike is one of the founders of Iraq Veterans Against the War (http://www.ivaw.net). The group is NOT a "pro-Kerry" group, it is a group affiliated with Veterans for Peace that is solely interested in stopping the occupation of Iraq, bringing our troops home ASAP, and ensuring that veterans get the care and benefits that they need and deserve.

Being affiliated with this group, however, I can tell you that I don't think that ANY of the membership will be voting for Bush this November.... ;-)
