Bush cannot win, it's just not possible
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 11:51 PM by Fear
Let's say that in 2000 there was a 50% Gore - 50% Bush

Then:

1) In the 2000 elections votes where *lost*, this pissed of a LOT of people who will DAMN sure vote this year whatever way possible for the democrats (this excludes some republicans since they where not affected by it cause * got elected after all)

2) All democrats voting in 2000 for Gore, are DEFINATELY not going to vote for * since almost everyone believes it was a stolen election and they SURE want to make sure this is not going to happen again.

3) Bush lost MAJOR support among a lot of republicans who are VERY upset with how things are handled right now. Some of these people will not vote at all (cause they just cannot vote for a democrat) OR they vote for kerry.
http://www.sierratimes.com/04/10/20/carlworden.htm

So technically I believe that Kerry cannot loose. In 2000 it was a 50%-50% race, then it should give much more support for Kerry now.

AND NONE OF YOU GO LIKE *OOOOOOW, well in THAT CASE - that saves me a trip to the voting booth*, VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cause we don't know what they have up their sleeve!

Is the media trying to give * a push again by making claims that cannot be true? as of like *a close race* etc. etc. or just to get people to vote.

1. Not to mention...
Not to mention all the people who don't normally vote but will this year. They're motivated by the economy, jobs, healthcare and most of all, the war.

Your logic is 100% correct, and in addition the people I mentioned above.

Ya know, I really believe that Kerry is going to win this election by 5% or more.

2. There is a demographic that voted for Gore that will vote for Bush
unfortunately. Not quite sure what to call them. "Follow the Leader Lemmings" perhaps. These are the people, not very aware politically, that vote for the incumbent because "he's our President". Much like they voted for Gore ("our Vice-President"), Clinton in '96, Bush senior in '88 and '92, Reagan in '84, Carter in '80, etc.
There are these people out there and it is one advantage an incumbent has.

3. That is correct, I've heard about that.....also that there is a group who
will stick with a president during times of war. Although this ain't really a war.

8. Yup. Gore is a Southerner. Kerry's a Boston Liberal.
Go figure. :eyes:

17. The Birth of Insanity
You know, I've met someone who voted for Gore in 2000, who will be voting for Bush this year. His justification? He claims that:

1.) America is an empire, and our military might will remain unrivaled ("the reason Rome fell is because they don't have the technology that we do").

2.) He's too old to be drafted, and his son is much too young, so why should he give a damn?

3.) His parents are wealthy, so he's obsessed with the inheritance tax.

4.) All politicians are corrupt, so it follows that both Kerry and Bush are corrupt. He'd prefer a candidate with "balls" (a stubborn ideologue) over a candidate who seems "wishy-washy" over issues.

5.) He concedes that the American lifestyle is unsustainable, and he believes that it is fully viable for a leader to march our troops onto the battlefield to trade blood for oil; whatever maintains the illusion.

This guy (my girlfriend's brother) pulled my girlfriend aside at a family function, and said "You're INSANE if you're gonna vote for Kerry. What about the INHERITANCE TAX?"

As though some cosmic principle mandates that man should rearrange his priorities to put selfish gain first; then comes concern for his family, friends and fellow countrymen, near the bottom of the list.

I can only hope that such people are limited in number, or are becoming an endangered species.

Would you tell him from me that's he's a moron and I hope he has a nice day.
The assertions he makes don't even warrant a discussion.

24. I'd gladly pass the message along
if there wasn't a chance that he'd become my brother-in-law in the near future. The guy's got a four-year-old that cusses like a pirate with tourette's, punches people in the crotch and picks animals up the wrong way.

Her mother and father are stricken with the same affliction, too. You'd think that, as teachers of both linguistics and history, they'd know a little better.

19. Yes, there were lemmings who did that
but they were according to party lines. You are suggesting crossover voters for and incumbent regardless of party affiliation? Uh, no. Carter lost because of cross-over voters, and Reagan's smoke and mirrors nonsense, so you just disproved your own argument. Baby Bush lost and was selected. Lots of Greens and Independents are crossing over to Kerry. And whatever you based your "demographic" on(a rather odd choice of wording, since it refers to a person within a region, not a personality or voting profile), I would be curious as to where you accrued the data on which you base such a statement.

to cheat & steal the election, again. And they will!

They've been working on stealing it from day one, a precinct here and there in the battleground states will do it.

10. I worry a little about the "security moms"
because they've been repeatedly lectured about how much danger we are in and that Kerry will just let terrorists do whatever they want to us. I'm hoping the people who think that way are just a small minority.

Other than that our other danger is the repub cheating. Many cheating attempts have already been uncovered, but I'm sure there's a lot more to come. We have to be watching for anything.

13. In a Free Country, this would be true
Imperial Amerika is most definitely NOT a Free Country, certainly not at the Upper Levels, even if we still sort of can play prtened that everything is unchaged (at least until Law Enfdorcement gets Bushevikized back to Mississippi 1950s with all of us as the Negroes).

14. I think you're mostly correct.
The only way this election won't be a Kerry landslide is if the republicans figure out how to steal this election as well. Voter turnout alone assures it.

15. Very logical, however
there is the deus ex machina:

1. In Greek and Roman drama, a god lowered by stage machinery to resolve a plot or extricate the protagonist from a difficult situation.
2. An unexpected, artificial, or improbable character, device, or event introduced suddenly in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation or untangle a plot.
3. A person or event that provides a sudden and unexpected solution to a difficulty.

21. The only reason that Bush is even staying afloat is .....
now repeat after me like you are at the Republican National convention:

9/11

If you repeat this enough the sheeple will want you to protect them from the "wolves".

'Bush supporters' will actually make the effort to vote for him? (Or vote at all for that matter.)

The left and it's off-shoots are coming out in full force on the 2nd and that's the difference..I hope.

Short of stealing it - there's no way that the Evil War Chimp, far and away the worst president in U.S. history, can win this election!

26. Rebuttal to first point
1.) America is an empire, and our military might will remain unrivaled ("the reason Rome fell is because they don't have the technology that we do").

They had the most advanced technology of their time. That is all a country/empire can have.
