Had the "If you vote Bush, I don't want to hear it" talk with friends. |
|
Yesterday, a moment in the Kool-Aide zone was quite enlightening. A friend said that she was disturbed that her daughter was going on a class trip but others could not because their parents could not afford it. It disturbed her and I agreed. She bemoaned the school budget cuts and no money for little things like that.
We changed to the election and she said she was voting for Bush.
I lost it.
I told her, "If you vote for Bush, I do not want to hear ANYTHING about how bad school funding is, your job, which will be gone within six months of his re-installation, how your clients will be gone, because they will be out of business becuse the economy will be in the toilet, or anything related to that shithead's policies that you will soon find out, do not give a rat's ass about you."
I am not apologizing. If they vote for him, tell them to take it somewhere else, because if they could not get it right this time, they are just freaking stupid, and deserve what they get.

1. Good. It's about time someone made things |

clear. I'm tired of people bitching about their health care, lost jobs, not being able to take vacations in Europe for fear of being ridiculed and then telling me they're voting for Dubya...

I've done the same thing to my friend who is not very well off, has two kids, and one not-so-great income. He emailed me the other day, telling me, (im' quoting) "Kerry's a big fag". I emailed him back and asked him how his girlfriend planned to get unemployment when there was no money left for it, or if he thought that his crappy factory was still going to be able to offer health insurace for his children after the prices go up again. Some people just, "can't smell their own shit on their knees".....

3. Don't apologize for christ's sake! |
|
But, "they are just freaking stupid, and deserve what they get. " means YOU get saddled w/ their stupidity too. Good reason to try to keep them home on 11/2 or turning them to the side that values people above corporations. Try saying "Bush is a serial liar" as a mantra when you begin to lose it. Say it loud and say it proud! When they start on Kerry as a response, ask them where the WMD are. They'll shut up.

6. No, she hates Kerry "just because". No real reason. |
|
I think that friendship is gone.

Every repub I've talked to, when asked to explain their reasons for supporting *, can't ever give any concrete reasons. Always just some wishy-washy crap like that.

Unfortunately, the rest of us will get it too.
