Great debate triumph over conservative friend
I was debating a conservative friend of mine , well, he's more of hardcore libertarian, but anyway, I called Bush a big spender and he laughed at it. I cited a bunch of facts about Bush's budget expansions and asked him to cite three things Bush had done to reduce the size of government. At first he said "cut taxes", but I pointed out that that only reduces the size of the gov's bankroll, not workforce or influence. We ended the debate with him questioning all of his conservative beliefs. It was beautiful. We're usually very evenly matched also. He said he may not vote Bush now. Not for Kerry, but for some 3rd party candidate. Hey, any votes taken away from Bush help us out in this swing state.

1. Great if this really happens
My most frustrating experience is winning a debate and hearing "yeah, you are right, but I still think * would be better"

3. Good job!
And the beautiful thing is, you won on the basis of facts. Not character assassination or lies. Facts! :)

7. Talked a 90-year-old Catholic Democrat into voting for Kerry
She had heard a Bishop on TV say it was a mortal sin to vote for Kerry. I said I didn't think so & a majority ofCatholics are voting for Kerry. She said thanks, now I'm going to vote for him. I guess sometimes just a little talk can make a big difference
