Repub ad guys really stupidly screw themselves? Or double agents?

As a rampaging and cunning linguist and comprehensive left-brained word fetishist....an expert, if you will, on images and words,
it is impossible for me to pass by without noting to all and sundry, that the current Wolves advert against JKerry, really does the republican position no favors, and in point of fact, is either a gross stupidity in the use of 'wolves' as an image, or is the deliberate inclusion of contradictory messages in the primary image.
This is observable in that the wolf image in USofA is not associated with terrorists, and actual conotative association is why the whole advert falls so flat, emotionally. The primary wolves image has been firmly established as economic (wolves at the door) and will not, at this late date, be supplanted to one associated with terrorism. So it would seem as though those who created the advert either were aware or should have been aware that all the image would do is to force viewers to think about things economique' in a very very bleak and negative fashion. As the times are truly at the door of global 'bleak and dreary', bringing up the whole 'wolves at the door' image at this time is highly suspect as merely an example of ad man ignorance and or stupidity. In fact, while Bush is a shining example that stupidity knows no limits, in commerce you don't usually get away with such blunders more than once. So the opinion, after viewing the advert, must be tempered with the possibility that there exists a mole within the republican advertising machine.

As mcluhan the loon (pun intended of course) once observed, you don't look to the message to devine the intent of the sender, you look to the world within the message and the message within the world...

3. you are thinking too much
it was just an ad aimed at the rural idiots that know about dogs and wolves. Not much brains about it. Republicans don't target people with brains.

4. Well, at least you gave me an answer of what the wolves are
or were supposed to represent! I've asked DUers several times what in the world the message was supposed to be in this dumb ad. After several answers, it was evident that I wasn't alone in my confusion.

I don't know about the mole thing. I suspect all these ads are run past lots of insiders, and I suppose, with proper explaination, most of them thought it was a great subliminal message ad.

They just screwed up with this one.

BTW, since the image this week seems to be animals, did you see the new Dem ad with the eagle and the ostrich? Olberman played it last night, right after the wolves ad. I loved the new ad! The message is clear, and you can't help laugh at the ostrich!

5. Did A Survey..
I was asked to do a survey on this spot. When they asked how it made me feel, I told them that the repukes were now trying to make "Wolf's" into terrorists. I told them the spot made me sick as to what the * campaign would do to scare the people. And there the only people that it would effect were the idiot repukes he was preaching to, but not the Democrats. I looked at the wolf's as * himself trying to frighten his own people.

7. http://www.wolfpacksfortruth.org/
http://www.wolfpacksfortruth.org/

They told us we were shooting a Greenpeace
commercial!

When the camera crew showed up, we wondered
why they were all driving Hummers. Our agent
assured us it was a Greenpeace commercial and
they paid TWICE our hourly steak rate. Little did we
know we were being tricked into this vicious
campaign attack ad.

We are not Terrorists!

George W. Bush incorrectly labelled my wolfpack
as a terrorist threat. We are NOT terrorists. We do
not associate with terrorists (unless you count that
pesky wolverine) and FRANKLY, we don't even like
terrorists!

We are a peaceful pack of wolves. All we want in life is:

For these reasons, my Wolfpack and I support
John Kerry for President
of the United States!
