I wondered why, when he and Jeb and Laura were approaching the podium for the appearance in Melbourne yesterday (saw that on C-SPAN after the Kerry rally in Pueblo), W was looking down as if he was afraid he might fall, when neither Jeb nor Laura seemed at all uncertain of the footing. That pic explains a lot.

I met Jeb once and he is definitely at least 6' 2".

Lifts are very hard to spot. Especially well-made ones. They build up the back of the shoe on the *inside* leaving the outter heel alone. They can get another couple of inches this way. That's without even touching the heel. And a cobbler can do it to any pair of shoes you like.
