If Bush is kicked out of the White House in November, what do you think some of those rabid right-wing fundamentalists you have over there might be capable of doing in retaliation? Are they just going to say "Well, it was a fair fight, now we just have to accept the will of the people."? There have certainly been some extreme, hate-filled irrational remarks from some of these morons in the past weeks.

1. Are you talking about the Congressional fundies like DeLay? |

My guess is that they'll attempt to Impeach Kerry within 6 months. Probaly on treason or some other non-sense.
If you're talking about the millinialist "base" then I'd suggest that the situations created by the reichwing will probably render Kerry ineffectual and the imperial war machine will march on with or without dubya.
They can just sit back and take pot shots at doctors and start planning a final Republic of Gideon creating coup.

2. I was thinking more about... |

those pickup trucks full of shotgun-toting worshippers that we see on the news - the ones who think that Bush was sent here by Jesus to cleanse the world of non-American uncultured freedom-haters (you know, most of the population of the rest of the world). What if these folks think that their hero was cheated out of his rightful place as Most Powerful Moron In The World. Are we going to see sieges and shootouts?

3. Those are the people I worry about too. |

If a Kerry win fucks up their Armageddon fantasy, there is no telling what they might do. Probably take matters into their own murderous hands.

They're all extremists and ideologues, from their PNAC crowd to the fundamentalist supporters. People like that have a tendency to ignore reality- including "rules".
I can imagine the Bush administration deciding to broaden the conflict in the middle east before January. I can certainly see them looting the public coffers alot more, in a final attempt to "starve the beast".
The fundamentalists are completely unpredicatable. Who knows where their heads are at right now, or what they might do in the service of Jesus.

5. Please note: I'm NOT having a go at Jesus |

I was thinking about the gun-nuts, the militias, the white supremists - all the sad people who see Bush as the emobodiment of their twisted bigotry and ignorance. Please don't flame me as an anti-Christian because (although I'm not a Christian) I'm not blaming them for anything.
