Great REAL SPORTS!!!!!

I caught a great Real Sports today detailing child slavery in the United Arab Emirates dealing with horse and camel jockeys.

The kids are bought for as little as $50 from countries like Pakistan and Banglidesh. The children are beaten, chained and raped during their "jockey" training. They're systematically undernourished to keep their weight down. Many die from the abuse. Some are trampled to death by horses/camels because they're too weak to hold onto their mounts!!!!

Be careful what you think about. You're probably thinking 12-13 year old boys ... THINK AGAIN!!! We're talking about boys as young as four and 11-12 at the oldest. Appararently, they're too big after that to jockey in the arab world!!!!! When they get too big for the job they are simply abandoned.

Meanwhile, the Camels get their own staffs of veterinarians in swank facilities. They even get their own pools. The equation is simple. Human life is cheap, the camels/horses can cost millions!!!!

Sidenote: this is what you get when people have too many babies without consideration for how they will be raised or the impact of over-population on humanity and civilization!!!!!


When the state department was confronted, they feigned ignorance of the subject. But it seems ironic to me that UAE is such a "close ally" when President Bush has made human trafficking one of his lead distraction issues during the last 6 months. To say they didn't know is accurate. Saying they didn't care enough to investigate is probably more appropriate. The same way they didn't care to investigate the terrorist warnings they were getting and IGNORING!!!!

Finally, the story was really headed up by a child activist from Pakistan (I forget his name). But I really fear for the guy if Bush stays in office. He kidnapped a lot of kids AWAY from the "jockey training camps" (child abuse/rape/murder centers)
