9. Yes, and it's still a problem today!

I lived in Pa at the time, and didn't realize until recently how bad things really were in the south. They are still bad, but hidden today.

I don't think there are downright murders like that now, but the hatered is vey much still there.

5. I have lived in MS since I was four years old.

People like his murders do still exist but overall things have gotten so much better.

It makes me even prouder of my father who at 13 marched with MLK. I am white and so is my dad, I cannot imagine the hell he faced for doing it.

Those bastards got away with murder, and then bragged about it for money.

I hope those involved go to prison just like Byron De La Beckwith, the man who murdered Medgar Evers - even if they're all 90 years old and pissing through a tube. They've gotten away with it for far too long.

and they also had all those church bombings in the south in the 60s.

I think we have come a ways since then, but there is still too much hate out there. And it is being directed at Mexican Americans now as well as Blacks.

20. I used that comparison because Edgars' murderer

was finally convicted of the crime he'd committed. I hope justice comes to those who participated in the kidnapping and murder of Emmett Till as well. Let them know they can't escape justice.
