1. Did you know....
American POWS were treated worse because their captors felt emboldened by Kerry's testimony? (according to "stolen honor"). If only, if only.... :eyes:

The first of a series of special Link TV Spotlight presentations that shows important political films, documentaries, ads and PSAs that you should see before you vote.  Link TV brings you analysis of films that most American TV channels have chosen to not broadcast.
In this program, we analyze and show two films that present radically different views of George W. Bush. The first film, Faith in the White House, "reveals a positive side of President Bush never reported in the news media through interviews with people who have encountered Bush in a faith-based way," says David Balsiger, the documentary's producer.  Link TV Spotlight host and political commentator Mark Hertsgaard investigates the truth and connections behind this powerful film. For more information about this program, or to learn how to purchase a DVD of the 70-minute film George W. Bush: Faith in the White House, call (800) 811-0548 or  www.grizzlyadams.tv

In the second half of the program, Hertsgaard analyzes There's Something About W, A wry look at the policies of the Bush administration. The film offers a fact-filled mix of policy analysis and humor. We hear from President Bush, in his own words, and leading experts and comedians including Molly Ivins, Paul Krugman, Al Franken, Kevin Phillips, Bill Maher, Arianna Huffington, Daniel Ellsberg, Norman Solomon, Will Durst and more—even Michael Moore. Actor Peter Coyote narrates this tightly-crafted, 40-minute piece.  For more information, or to own this film, visit www.somethingaboutw.org.

Films from a Conservative Perspective
American Film Renaissance presents film summaries and links to movies that share president Regan's sentiment in his 1989 farewell address: "The movies celebrated democratic values and implicitly reinforced the idea that America was special... for those who create the popular culture, well-grounded patriotism is no longer the style. We've got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom...freedom is special and rare. It's fragile, it needs protection."

3. The films are fascinating......
I think that LINK is doing a great job with this. Watching the film "Stolen Honor" was strange .... I kept waiting for something different, something new, that they had to say about Kerry. But it was an extended rehash of the swift boat commercials.

I did not find most of the men as repulsive as John O'Neil. They are victims of the war. I have no problem believing that they went to the war in Vietnam with as sincere and patriotic values as the "greatest generation" did in WW2. And many went through hell, because that war was hell. Now they are bitter, and they blame John Kerry, because it appears it is too hard for them to accept that he was not the one who betrayed them .... the government betrayed them. But they are bitter, and have become flint hard, and reason and rational thought can not penetrate that hardness. Bitterness contaminates the vessle which contains it.

Going Upriver is on now. It breaks your heart. Somehow, our country needs to reconcile the hatred that those years caused. I hope that as president, Kerry will be able to take steps in that direction. I know that the fellow in the White House now lacks the moral capacity .... and he couldn't do it if he wanted to. But he doesn't, and the sad thing is that so many honorable men do not realize that Bush and Cheney are exploiting their pain and suffering for political advantage.

4. thus far well done
They are on Going Upriver right now which is a very clear film. I hadnt seen Stolen Honor and the parts they showed really didnt have much impact on me. I had expected it to be much harsher or maybe just a stronger arguement. LinkTV is adding commentary which is balanced. Very well done.

Should be interesting to see the ones about Bush.
