My Kerry/Edwards sign was stolen out of my yard

sometime between last night and this morning. I've lived here almost 10 years and this is the first time anyone has done this. The repukes must be awfully worried,because one of the main roads around the corner from me was wiped clean. What was once peppered with Kerry signs now it's all bu$h/cheney. I never thought it would happen here,but.....repukes are despicable no matter where you live.If I ever catch anyone in my yard or around my car (it's got Kerry/Edwards stickers and signs in the windows) I will take a broom to their heads. :evilgrin:

I remember one time my son was having trouble with people breaking into his car....so he taped razor blades on the door handles,forgot about doing that and cut his own hands. Geesus.... LOL

Someone did that here on DU and it turns out that local ROTC students felt compelled to rid their town of Kerry signs. They found the signs at the school. Your locality may not have the exact same problem, but a kid may know who organized this.

those orgs. have pretty strict standards, so trespassing and petty theft should disqualify them for a year at least.

It could be anybody who did this. I was outraged when I first discovered my sign gone. Then what's worse is having to look at the bu$h signs while driving down the road.I am so sick of bu$h I can hardly stand to see his name,look at him or hear him speak. I've had to hold the remote in my hand for the last 4 years while watching TV.....just so I can mute it or change the channel real quick.

those signs are UGLY. They've distorted the American flag. This annoys my 18 year-old son. "Mom, the Kerry flag looks like a good ol' US flag. That * one is just....wrong."

And I cannot bear to see his name, hear him speak, see his image ( blech), so I can relate completely. Hang in there and get more signs. Don't give up!

6. Put up a new sign.

"My Kerry / Edwards sign was stolen like the last election..."

My husband is running for a local office and we just put out sme large (4 ft by 4 ft) signs. I told him that if one gets stolen we are putting up a hand lettered sign that says:

"A Sand---- for County Board sign used to sit here. Some Anti-American stole it."

I am SO over the GOP right now I'll paint the durn sign myself!

15. I have posted this before but I will again.

My son-in-law has flood lights all over our property. They are on sensors and only go on if someone trespasses. I think it could be easy to floodlight a sign with a sensor, so if someone tries to steal it the lights and maybe sirens and stuff could go off scaring off the intruder or at the least catching them in the act.

19. Sign vandalism/trespassing hasn't, thus far,

been a big issue in my particular neighborhood (a little surprising, since there's relative parity between the two parties here, and apparently it is a problem south of us), but we made damned sure our sign was planted (deeply) in a spot where the front flood would come on if they came up our driveway after the sign. We also used those plastic, one-way wire ties to affix it to the frame. They may eventually steal the sign, if they go on a 'rampage' in our neighborhood (I expect it Halloween weekend), but the little turds will have to work at it, and they'll have to do it in the spotlight.

20. I saw a photo

This woman had made a sign that said: Four years ago, they stole the election. Now, they stole my Kerry sign.

My signs have been out there flashing thousands of cars a day as they bask in the warm autumn sun, and as the Bush/Cheney signs across the street are a molder'n in the shade.

BTW, seen a sign that has the same strange flag logo and typeface as the b/c04 signs but says "ENRON HALLIBURTON"? I saw one. There must be others.

22. Milwaukee; our 4'x6' "Firefighters' for Kerry" sign stolen Sat (early am?)

we filed a police report - our 4 foot by 6 foot sign (held up
two w/5'metal fence stakes) was stolen very late Fri or Sat (while
we slept).

Our source of signs (from Racine) said that all the large
firefighters' for Kerry signs had been stolen in the last
several days- he drove up from Racine to drop off several
more (oversized, but not huge) wire framed signs. We plan to
remove these each night, and put them back up each morning.

tempted to rig an X10 alarm system using MS13A wireless
motion detectors (~$19 each at x10.com). Also need an X10
transceiver (model RR501 for about $12), and suggest using
an UM506 relay module w/beeper - as to trigger a momentary
alarm ( or just place module in your bedroom w/beeper enabled
so you can chase them away next time).
