what are the chances of us getting the house and senate
if Bush wins so we can start impeachment proceedings? probably irrelevant since Kerry will win if it's fair, but there has already been fraud all over the place, so is there any chance of this scenario?

2. I don't if my experience has happened across the country ,
but no one is running against my incumbant Republican Congressman two elections in a row. I keep getting the feeling my party doesn't care.
I wrote in a candidate because I refused to let my vote go unchallenged, but really. I have brought this up with my local Democrats club but they can't seem to figure out what I am saying.

We have to challenge every Republican seat in both houses, but if our own party doesn't care, how can we?

3. You're right.
But until you go to them and say that YOU will run, nothing will change. Or if not you, someone else who won't put it off on someone else to take care of the mess. THEN it will change.

4. union county nc doesn't have a candidate for the state house or senate
I could not believe it.

Of course I'd run if I wasn't a queer with a past alcohol and drug problem.

6. Run anyway
the majority of Americans can look at themselves and see either an alcohol or drug problem at some time in their lives. No big deal on either of these issues.

don't worry about the gay part, those that scream the loudest do so because they are having a problem admitting that some other guys butt actually looked good in those jeans.LOL

Honestly, be upfront with who you are from the start, and the opponents will have nothing to hit you with.

wear it all with pride.

8. Sad, isn't it?
What I learned in the same situation is that you have to find and draft a candidate yourself.

Haven't done that in a couple of cycles and nothing has changed here either.

"Politics" is us. Find someone to run and then "manage" their campaign, or at least be on the "committee." Phooey on "party."

7. The House is a Republican lock for the next 12 years or longer
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 11:10 PM by BOHICA04
Now I know that's depressing, but the House only has two dozen competitive races each cycle. In 94, there was a metaphysical convergence of three factors: 1. The House Bank 2. The House Post Office 3. Legislation that allowed retiring Congress members to keep their campaign war chests if they retired that year. On top of that, Newt ran a genius of a campaign and in June 93 - Clinton was able raised taxes on everybody by a margin of an Al Gore tie-breaking vote.

With computerized redistricting in place for 6 to 8 more years, change in the House is way in the future. And then only if the state house are changed to get more favorable redistricting.
