RE Air America- Of interest if you're into Usenet |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 12:47 AM by Prisoner_Number_Six
Someone has been recording Air America, converting the programs into mp3 format and posting them for download in alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.spoken-word (and possibly other groups). If you have use of a premium server there is at least a couple weeks worth of programming for the taking.
Just an FYI.

Thanks for the tip.
Too many people miss out on the filesharing opportunities that usenet provides.

4. The usenet rips appear to be high bitrate archive-quality |
|
NOT low-bandwidth streaming quality. Just in case someone is interested in cd-quality sound. Personally, I think it's a bit of a waste of bandwidth, but others may enjoy it.

3. General question . . . |
|
If the mp3 data simply shows up on your screen as so much gibberish, how do you save that data into mp3 format? I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird.

5. Get a newsreader that's capable of saving a binary file |
|
such as Forte Agent. Web browsers make lousy usenet readers.

save link ... save it to a file. make sure the file has a mp3 suffix.
that should do it as long as the file is good.
or a better newsreading program...yes that would do it.
