How much is gas in your area? |
|
$2.09 for 87 octane, $2.30 for Diesel in Twin Cities.
(After Selection 2004 ends and the oil biz recoups its losses, expect Diesel to be $2.30/gal, and $2.50~$2.75 for 87 octane - on the assumption that anti-American forces don't destroy more oil pipelines.

11. $1.78 is the lowest ... |
|
There's an intersection with I-40 in OKC that tends to have the lowest prices in OKC, and that's what it was this morning.
It's hovering around $1.81 to $1.85 for 87 octane at most other places. Some stations are higher.

20. Higher Gas Prices Are GOOD! |
|
The higher gas rises, the more likely people are to get up off their fat behinds to walk to 711 instead of driving down the block. Maybe they'll even buy a fuel efficient car instead of a fuel sucking SUV. Maybe we'll even one day have a leader who will actually pursue alternative sources of energy rather than being an oil company puppet.

Have you ever thought for a second about people who work out of cargo vans and other trucks? Its a bit hard to load a 1,000 lbs of floor covering, construction materials, tools whatever in a fucking Yugo. Gas keeps going up and if I try and raise my rates then less people will buy because of this shit economy,Its a double edge sword.
One in Five Americans live in GD poverty and each dime of gas price increase tightens the noose a bit more. Oh..I guess they could just quit their job and those pesky fuel prices wouldn't be that big of a problem.
Wait until you see the profit sheets for these fucking Oil companies this year. Does a 1600 % rise in net earnings sound like their just "passing on the costs" like they always claim?
These outrageous increases don't hurt guys like Limbaugh and O'Reilly who make $35 MILLION a year between the two. But it hurts the hell out of the working class and people who are trying to keep their business from going under like me...

35. In that respect I agree, but there's far more to it than that |
|
Upper class greed (their lives over ours because they have more money which means they're better by default :eyes: )
Oil is, literally, in everything we use or consume. Directly or indirectly.
Expect food prices to skyrocket along with the gas prices.
Peak oil is inevitable, but the republicons, starting with reagan, should have not dismissed it all. (of course, they were making love with Saddam and likely Osama at the time; we helped Osama get into power and we all saw how Rumdrinker and Saddam shook hands. Oh, what happened before 1993 that caused Osama to come after us? Maybe Rumsfeld might know? :tinfoilhat: )
Having the *-created terrorists blow up pipelines doesn't help either.
