Republicans know the price of everything and the value of nothing. |

To paraphrase Oscar Wilde. He described them perfectly.

They claim to be the godly/spiritual ones, but when it comes down to it, their objections to anything and everything is always what it will co$t them.
Their anti-tax mania is based on their presumption that what they have is theirs by some kind of divine right, rather than a good deal of luck, and, sometimes, even quite a bit of dishonesty, not to mention oppression of those who are disempowered.
Take the fact of the "debt tax", interest on interest on interest on the deficit, to be paid by the young. It's obscene, literally and concretely obscene. I loved the fact that Clinton today mentioned how this enslaves the future of this country to the likes of China and Japan.
I'm sure that it isn't ALL Republicans, but certainly a significant number of them claim to own the high moral ground, and yet they are the most materialistic people I know. For these, their god is Mammon.
