Iraqi Resistance Fighters Uniting! They Also Have a Name.....

In this image taken off a video tape, the logo for the so-called Islamic Movement for the Mujahedeen of Iraq (news - web sites) is seen at the start of the tape. More than a dozen insurgent factions allegedly operating in western Iraq claimed to be uniting under one previously unheard of Islamic group, according to a videotape received by AFP. Speaking over footage of operations purportedly carried out in August and September by the various splinter groups, a voice on the tape said the factions would unite as the so-called Islamic Movement for the Mujahedeen of Iraq(AFP/HO)

.... There was no article to accompany this photo. Just this bit of information in the caption. "The Islamic Movement for the Mujahedeen of Iraq"! IMMI??

1. Bush has created more enemies than friends
by his words and actions. The Qur'an states that the lesser jihad (which means 'struggle', not holy war, btw) may be used when one's right to practice Islam is threatened, and there appears to be no way else to win the right to pray in peace. Bush has used the word "crusade" more than once-and the Islamic world has a different concept of that word than the Christian one. Bush has allowed government representatives, such as Gen. Boykin, to go around in uniform and spout anti-Islamic hatred. Dozens of Muslims in the US have been held, apparently becacuse of their faith, and people like the former Cat Stevens, a convert to Islam, have been denied access to this country. And lets not forget Ann Coulter, with her idea to "Christianize" Iraq. And there are all those US troops in Iraq who have done little to protect the people but a lot to protect oil fileds. All of these things together give the impression that the US is out to destroy Islam. This impression is enough to allow groups like this one to be created and to flourish.

Security moms should think carefully before they pull the lever in favor of Bush. He has done everything he can to make us less safe.

5. It is a busy logo isn't it?
Just the IMMI in Arabic might work well.

10.  Some of the 380 tons of highly exlposives munitions
Could be used on the British coalition moving into Baghdad.
The female hostage begged the British goverment not to move troops into to Baghdad or she would die. Will they pay for this military arrogance.

2. That could be bad news for our troops..............
until now it's been a fractal resistance. If these groups join together and form a more coherent fighting force, many more American lives could be lost. This is what Bush's ineptness has wrought. In their eyes, these people are defending their country against a foreign invader. They will fight to the death to defend their country just as we would to defend ours.

I guess the Bush administration neglected to provide enough flowers to throw at our soldiers, so they're using what they have; bullets and mortars.

6. Most Iraqis are figuring out...
that the US and it's Occupation are not there to provide democracy. The US Puppet Govt. is slowly being percieved as colaberators in US colonization of Iraq. It is becoming obvious to some Americans that Iraq is a lost cause if democracy was truely the cause.

I seriously doubt that most Americans know the following but if they did would not care.

The Hand-Over That Wasn't: Illegal Orders give the US a Lock on Iraq's Economy
by Antonia Juhasz

Officially, the U.S. occupation of Iraq ended on June 28, 2004. But in reality, the United States is still in charge: Not only do 138,000 troops remain to control the streets, but the "100 Orders" of L. Paul Bremer III remain to control the economy.

These little noticed orders enacted by Bremer, the now-departed head of the now-defunct Coalition Provisional Authority, go to the heart of Bush administration plans in Iraq. They lock in sweeping advantages to American firms, ensuring long-term U.S. economic advantage while guaranteeing few, if any, benefits to the Iraqi people.

The Bremer orders control every aspect of Iraqi life - from the use of car horns to the privatization of state-owned enterprises. Order No. 39 alone does no less than "transition from a … centrally planned economy to a market economy" virtually overnight and by U.S. fiat.

Although many thought that the "end" of the occupation would also mean the end of the orders, on his last day in Iraq Bremer simply transferred authority for the orders to Prime Minister Iyad Allawi - a 30-year exile with close ties to the CIA and British intelligence.

9. This is sad news
It brings more hardship for our soldiers over there. My Daughters Fiance is shipping to Afghanistan in March. He was to go to Iraq a couple of weeks ago but they changed his deployment, thank goodness!

I also feel for the people of Iraq, once again our meddling in their lives is just bringing them more death, destruction and tyranny.

11. On the bright side, at least there is someone to negotiate with now
In Vietnam, it was perfectly clear who to negotiate with, but in Iraq, resistance has been so splintered that if you want a negotiated end to the chaos, who do you talk to?
