CSPAN: Political Talk Show Week
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 07:33 AM by Q
CSPAN: Political Talk Show Week

- From 6-9am ET: The Michael Smerconish Radio Show on WPHT Philadelphia

- At 10am ET: The Lynn Cullen Radio Show on WPTT Pittsburgh

-----

- Looks like RWing revisionism is coming to CSPAN this week.

- Given that there are a dozen RWing radio stations to every one 'liberal' station...it's pretty clear how this is going to sound.

1. What a waste : (
I've never seen the guy on now before ... thank heavens! Michael Smerconish is just another right wing "foaming at the mouth" shill for BushCo. What "cracks me up" in a funny way is how much these chicken-hawk talking heads hate (more like fear?) Hillary.

It's hard to believe that these mean spirited right wing talk show hosts have a following.

In a word - FREAKS.

3. Americans can now see what happens when...
..RWingers own a majority of the media in our country: only ONE SIDE of the issues are heard by a majority of the people.

4. I do hope C-SPAN does give a little balance
They have been sitting in on radio shows for years, and I recall seeing them in the studio with guys like Imus, Limbaugh, Hightower and lots of local hosts since at least the early 90s.

I have no problem with them having RWers on, but I hope they sit in with some liberal shows, like Ed Schultz or Franken or somebody. I don't have a problem with any network showing both sides of the story. Just so long as they do show both sides.

7. Big dawg and Kerry tipped the balance last night on C-span! One hour
of truth beats a week of lies. Hang in there.

5. Eariler..a caller wondered why Bush* was warned about 9-11...
...and did nothing. Smerconish then recited RWing talking points about the August briefing being 'historical' and that Clinton 'had eight yeaars and did nothing about terrorism'.

- It's amazing that these types of conversations never include information about the NUMEROUS warnings from all around the world.

6. There's a reason not all RW hosts get syndicated
That's one of them.

Though Smerconish has tried, constantly trying to pimp his goods on the news channels. He still sucks.

10. it's going to be,
I live in the Philly area and this station is a Clear Channel station. Their weekday line up goes Smerchonish, Glen Beck, Rush then Hannity. That speaks for it self.

It's a shame that before Clear Channel, the FM sister station was one of the best talk stations I've ever heard. That's where Smerchonish got his start and needless to say, his views have evolved.

9. Very disappointed , one week B/4 election
and this is what C-SPAN decided would be best ? I would like to know whos hair brain idea it was, probably nohair Brian's brain ! We all no he has a right wing slant ,he may try and be fair ,however I believe this to be his gift to the side he supports. Like most acts of desperation ,its to little to late !

11. Like I said...
...as long as they present both sides, I have no problem with it. I don't want one-sided anything, be it conservative or liberal.

If you don't like this wingnut assclown, turn it off. It's not like C-SPAN's getting huge audiences for this, save for political and radio geeks. Sounds like they're keeping the numbers of liberal and conservative talent equal, so good for them.

...on the radio hosts.

- Next up. Lynn Cullen.

- By the way...does anyone remember the cable program called 'America's Voice'? It was the most radical Democrat bashing program on cable until it...disappeared. Why is this relevant? It seems that many of the hosts of THAT program ended up appearing on CSPAN on their 'Hotline' segment. Chuck Todd, editor in chief of 'hotline' was one of the most vicious RWingers on that program. Now he pretends to be a neutral 'journalist'.

14. A caller just said that the NYTs and Dan Rather...
...are lying about the 380 tons of explosives lost under Bush's* command. He said the explosives were already gone when the troops arrived.

- The CSPAN host referred viewers to the DRUDGE website for the source of this claim.
