why isn't kerry going after bush on gas prices?
and his refusal to dip into the strategic petroleum reserve, which lowered prices when our last elected president bill clinton tried it?

i, for one, am sick of paying $3.50 a day just to get to work

2. Because that politicizes it. Gas prices are something everyone's aware of

on their own, and already blaming Bush for on an emotional level. If it becomes a political issue then only half the country blames Bush for it. (The stock market is similar)

3. He probably doesn't think there is much he can do to lower them.
And may damn well be right, sadly. I don't think they're coming back down. Period.

4. He doesn't have to
Everybody in America sees it every day when they fill up...like a mini anti-Bush billboard atop the pumps. Kerry has a lot to talk about...let the easy stuff go!

6. with all due respect, take the bus or ride a bike
if you can't handle the cost. its not going down. in fact, you should expect gas to skyrocket once the election is over. $2.50/gallon is not out of reach. its LIKELY; countless dead, and BILLIONS in deficit spending to secure our access to it. $55/barrel is not even close to the true cost.

besides, $3.50/day is a cheap commute. riding the bus is $3 round trip, min.

8. It wouldn't be productive since JK won't be able to do much about it even

after he's elected. Unfortunately. Keep in mind, even where the price is now, it's way lower than in 90% of the developed world.
edit: minor typo

10. no hurricanes....they blame the hurricanes
and actually output is greater than demand right now....it won't be reflected in prices at the pumps for a couple weeks though and is of course subject to change.

11. Because he knows that gas prices will go up regardless
I just wrote a long post explaining why, and it got lost somehow, and I don't have time to post it again.

The most sensible thing to is to reduce our dependence on petroleum. Again, I don't want to write that lost essay over again, but that's what it boils down to.

14. 2 reasons
1. He probably can't do anything about it (what are the prices in Europe?)

2. Kerry punches like a sedated puppy. How many times has he made you pull your hair out waiting for him to call that smirking little tard on his horseshit? Did he? He could not even call him a fucking liar - he had to say something like:"Well, I've never, ever used the harshest word, as you did just then. And I try not to. I've been -- but I'll nevertheless tell you that I think he has not been candid with the American people."

17. AAAAGGGHHH
I am so pissed that the country is even in a situation like this. We should have an efficient public transportation system and people should USE it, and we should have started researching effective solar power back when we figured out we could use the sun.

And you know who I blame? Everyone whose ever driven down the block when the sun was shining and their legs worked.

20. You are all missing it!
Diesel prices are above the price of premium gas. (1st time EVER!)
I just filled my truck with diesel @ 2.29 (and 9/10)
I put in 192 gal.
The total?
450 bucks.
This is being transferred to YOU in higher prices.
The only thing to do is nationalize the oil company's, and throw the gougers in jail.
While we are at it, lets also nationalize the pharma and insurance industry's.
