especially in Calif. URGENT READ: If you didn't read it in the L.A. Times yesterday here's a heads up. In counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange you are allowed to vote via paper ballot instead of touch-screen. It was reported election voting assistants were told not to mention this little tidbit to voters. Remember now these counties mention are primarily Republican (makes one go hmmm??). So get the word out: YOU DO HAVE PAPER BALLOT OPTION WHEN YOU GO VOTE. You can request it. In fact get a hold of a copy of the article from yesterday's L.A. Times (Calif. section) and take with you at the polls just in case. Make sure all you voters out there take your Calif. driver's license or i.d. Also voters in other states make sure you too have this option of voting paper ballot instead of touchscreen. This is very crucial.

My daughter is in Hollywood and will be voting for the first time on Nov. 2nd.
She's a raving yellow dog democrat (and one of those Hollywood movie people)!
Does the LA county Dem org have a website with all of the propositions easily defined and a list of endorsed non-party candidates?
I read through them, but re-inventing the wheel seems dumb if the Dem party has already done the work.

I live in San Pedro and am a member of the I.L.W.U. local 13. And do work on our political action committee.
Since I am a noob on the DU and still unable to make a new thread, please allow me to add this "HEADS UP" for all of our California voters out there.
In fact this is so important, we (I.L.W.U. political action committee) just had a visit from Senator Kennedy the other day about this.
Its about "Proposition 72". Its a Health Care Coverage Requirements Referendum for employees working for large and medium employers. Its a model that's attracted attention from Congressmen in Washington. And one of whom (Sen Kennedy) paid us a visit and expressed to us how important it is for California to pass this ballot initiative. For if it passes he says; they will have a good chance to push some sort of Health Care Bill through Congress. If Prop 72 doesn't pass he says. Its unlikely this Bill he was referring to will even get out on the floor.
