Okay, I'm in the purple group AND PROUD! I was really surprised at the breakdown as I thought almost everyone on DU was between 18-26. Interesting poll. We do need to bring the younger group to DU although am not sure if this is possible. Looking at the poll maybe most individuals do not reach political maturity until later? Just a thought.

23. Results from 206 DUer's from an age survey last week.

Last week or so someone asked everyone's age. The post stayed up front several days. A total of 206 DUer's responded with their ages. Having some time on my hands, (couldn't sleep one night) I tabulated the results.

12 - 19---13/6%
20 - 29---29/14%
30 - 39---44/21%
40 - 49---55/27%
50 - 59---43/21%
60 - 69---20/10%
70+--------2/1%

The results really surprised me, in that I generally got the feeling that a lot of the post were from the under 30 crowd. So was surprised to see that 59% of the respondents were actually 40+, and a third were 50+. Not sure how representative this really is of the entire DU membership, which I think numbers 40,000+. But it was really encouraging to see such a diverse group, and all age groups involved.

I've only been stoned a couple times in my life. I mostly tried it for the herniated disc pain. I got really talkative and probably alienated everyone in a restaurant with my loud, obnoxious stance against organized religion. When non-stoned it's a quieter, obnoxious stance. :)
