MommaT Goes Cable !!! - Got Local Access To Show Palast Video !!!
:scared::wow::scared:

I'm just now hearing this from my mom, but somehow... she managed to get her video of Greg Palast's 'Bush Family Fortunes' shown on our local cable access TV here in Sacramento this weekend. They are going to run it at 6:00pm on Saturday.

It cost her $30.00 for an hour of access time.

Now I'm wondering how this is all legal, but the cable station didn't seem to be worried (course, they had her sign a form releasing them from any liability), and she received congratulations from the folks at Palast's website for getting it out there, so I guess everything is cool.

Anywho... has anybody else tried this? Hell, this is one cheap way to get information out there. Buy the video, buy the time, broadcast.

I'm gonna have a drink now, cause I still can't believe we won't be talkin to lawyers soon!

*help*

4. the only way to get in trouble
would be if Palast & Co. wanted to sue you for not purchasing a public performance license. The local access cable company belongs to the people of the area it serves. Ours doesn't charge anything except a modest "producer's membership fee" -- $15 a year & you can air anything....EXCEPT corporate advertising! I love my local access channel.
peace
