What has happened in this town since April of 2003 is nothing but criminal. It has been a disaster waiting to happen. If I and my husband lived in this town, we would be militants now, or we would be called "insurgents" or .... and or.... We would be, because if we had been residents, we would have lost friends and relatives in this disaster and we would be angry at the occupation and "smart bombs".

We would be fighting the "occupation".

I am voting this year to evict George W. Bush from the White House. I did not vote for him the first time either. I marched against this war three times. If the American people elect him to the presidency for the next four years, I am done. It's their responsibility, not mine. Sorry, but I'm almost spent. The people who should be held responsible are the fundamentalist wackos in rural Missouri who will gleefully vote to return this fool to office next week. The blame should be directed to them.

I read that all women and children are out of Falluja, as if just killing the men is merciful. I know these people are defending their homes and, frankly, does anybody know why we are destroying that city and those people? I have not heard one person, outside of DU, that is posing this question. Personally, I have no idea what to do. I would be happy if other people have ideas because I just don't know. I doubt we could even get aid into any of Iraq right now. Protesting doesn't seem to make a difference. What more can we do?

11. I'm at a loss, and it is killing me.

Our soldiers drove into this town in April of 2003 and set this whole nightmare up. What is happening in this town is so wrong. I don't know what to do. I've begged here for action, I've marched on the street, I've protested Halliburton in the conservative wasteland known as Dallas. I've called, I've rallied others to call, I just can't alone seem to stop what is happening in this town.

I just want everyone to stop for a minute and just think about how you would feel if this was happening in your suburb. China and or Russia or both along with the Mexico force had taken control of southern US and your town and they had set up command and control in your kids school. What would you do?

Even when Kerry wins, the fact a good deal of the people here still think this administration is doing good by whats going on in Iraq really gets to me.

Especially in Ohio.Republicans have stated that they will personally challenge voters AT THE POLLS. Donate your time to make sure the repegs are kept in line! On the other hand, and I apologize if I sound mean, but these people need to understand that democracy doesnt happen overnight. America has been working at it for 200+ years and we still have shitloads of problems. We also cannot make things right unless we have help from other countries, and without leadership that TRULY wants to help and not just make a profit, nothing will get done.

It is breaking my heart every day to know what is being done in my country's name to the people of Iraq.

* has become Saddam Hussein. * lied and spun us a tale of an evil dictator lying to his people ( and to himself.) In fact. * and Rove and Cheney were actually JEALOUS of the control Saddam had over the Iraqi people and they decided to prove they could be more brutal, cruel, destructive and evil.

They hired a known prisoner abuser to run Abu Ghraib!

When Kerry wins, we will have to do what we can to ease the suffering the Republicans have caused, but we can never truly heal the wounds of Iraq nor can we bring back the tens of thousands we killed.

This is why I hate - I mean HATE- the entire Republican party. It's time to bury the party of hatred and greed. On November 2nd we have a date to do just that.

Now, one of the things I've heard from people who found themselves supporting the war is that whether the UN went in or not, the fact is that there was a moral imperative. That Saddam was doing terrible things to his people and suppressing the Shi'ites, violating human rights and so on.

The only problem with that thinking is that it's been more than a year and a half since we went in. And right now, the abuses in the prisons, the bombings, and the attacks, the violence in the country are now being caused by us. Is that a moral position we want to be in? ...during some of the worst days of the American Holocaust in Central America. I was not surprised when he was appointed ambassador to Iraq as I, like many of us on the left and some of us at the center, was not fooled for a minute when, in the Spring of 2002, Condelezza Rice announced indignantly that Iraq may be holding prisoner a downed pilot from the first days of Desert Storm (1991). All of a sudden, the feigned concern. I told my wife that we'll invade in 6 months (took a little longer I think because of the massive popular opposition to *'s imperial plans).

I recall at the very start of the administration when * appointed Elliot Abrams to a "humanitarian" position that all was lost (it amplified my fears already in place after the bloodless coup of December 12 2000). Here * was reinstalling some of the arch operatives and architects of our brutal repression in Central America -- it was clear: Bush intended to continue the transformative work of his father, the "Latinization" of America, where society in an age of limits is divided up into two camps: The wealthy and the thin sliver of well-off managers and magistrates that serve them, and everyone else, the biomass of pawns ("useless eaters" and "cannon fodder"). Any alternative model or hopeful example, be that free elections in the States, or an Iraq that chose (a year before the invasion) to price their oil in Euros, gets thoroughly crushed. The program is well underway; give Bush 4 more years and he'll complete it.

Ever wonder why Bush is so intent on destroying social security? Or why the oligarchs resist single payor healthcare so vehemently? It is to get us wholly dependent on the cash nexus, on corporate largesse -- to tie our hands to their jobs under their terms to labor at their whim. Class war writ large. Fascism.
