I believe that the disappearance of the explosives in Iraq coming so close |
|
to election day is an attempt to seize the initiative on the WMD question and the AL Qaeda-Saddam link.By claiming that the missing explosives may also have contained WMD's a case will be made retroactively that this was the place not thoroughly searched by the inspectors which contained Saddam's secret stash of WMD's.Because the loss of these explosives will be blamed on Al Qaeda, a link will be established between Al Qaeda and Saddam.Watch for a Safire column on these items as election day nears.
This has all the odor of a disinformation campaign.

1. All reports on this show that inspectors did their job. |
|
It would be hard to make a case that they didn't, when they were the only ones paying attention.
Not that that would stop Safire and friends.

This stockpile was fully inspected and under IAEA seal..... They can try but not going to work....Too much documented info on the materials and no matter how they spin it, this screams to the Admin's incompetence.
