I hardly picture Judy, Candy, Wolf, and others as regular churchgoers.

1. We know why OWNERSHIP of the media is hoping for Bush
The whores do it because they live in the "bubble." They have no perspective on what it's like outside of the Washington scene. They look at it like a game and can't see how far things have gone from "politics as usual."

2. Church doesn't matter. It's all about control. CNN serves the masters,
and the masters know about the Opiate of the Masses and all that.

4. In any theocracy the focus is not on religion, but on power.
That's why theocracies are invariably corrupt and despotic, no matter what the religion they supposedly espouse.

5. Welcome to DU!
The reason these media types are doing their part to prop up a potential theocracy is because they just don't get what it's all about. They should read more James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, a bunch of other RW "Christians" to fully comprehend what these wackos have in mind. If the CNNers don't change their mind after that, then I guess it's the money, after all, plain and simple. And a total lack of concern about their country and its citizens.

DEFEAT BUSH!!

6. Nor is Shrub
remeber that story about how Kerry goes ot church regularily but Shrub doesn't?

Not that going to church is any reason to vote for or against somebody. But it is kinda relevant when you got Shrub, a man who says he talks ot God and whose base are the religouse right. he ran on GOD and continues ot use GOD to justify what he does. And the religouse fundies keep supporting him.

Hyppocrasy is it's own reward.

7. I have been wondering that very thing...
since before the invasion of Iraq. I had not yet found DU and would sit in front of the TV totally perplexed as nobody seemed to have any questions or concerns about what we were being told. I half expected the news anchors to be flanked by a snare drum and a fife while they covered the build-up like an NFL pregame show. I would listen to them report how "few" people there were within the US who were protesting this war and I wondered if I had lost all sense of rationality....if somehow I had gone nuts because I couldn't see why were about to do what we were about to do.

As it turned out...the rebels were basing themselves here. Damn...its so good to be home.

9. There's a sort of schism showing up in the media, I think.
Some of the big media ownership sees only the huge amounts of money and friendly legislation they'll receive from another Bush presidency, and others are getting concerned about the power fundamentalists yield with them.

A theocratic state wouldn't be good for business, after all. And even if it were, I doubt that many of these wealthy corporatists share the fundamentalists' views on abortion and other social issues.
