I got a piece of the discussion and I was thoroughly impressed: If there are any Freeping Diitoheads trolling on our boards, here's some heat your jackoffs can chew on for a while:

Those neo-conservatives need to understand something:

To quote George Carlin when talking about Rev. Donald Wildmon of Mississippi:

"Hey, Reverend, there are two knobs on the radio. One of them turns the radio off and the other one changes the station. How about that Reverend? You can actually change the station. It's called Freedom of Choice and it's one of the principles this country was founded on. Look it up in the library, Reverend, if you have any of them left before you're finished burning all the books!"

Same thing applies to those neo-conservative Freepers. If they don't like Howard, turn him off. If they don't want their children to watch or listen to something they find objectionable, here's a novel concept: DO YOUR JOB AS A PARENT AND MONITOR WHAT THEY WATCH AND LISTEN TO!!!

Just because they find it objectionable doesn't mean it's wrong. Obscenity is in the mind of the beholder! I thought they were for government being off our backs and out of our lives, except:

- what music we can listen to
- what we can watch on TV
- what magazines we can read (movement to get Playboy, etc. out of newstands. If you don't like it, don't read it. I don't and never have!)
- They still want to have the government force our kids to pray in school
- They still want domain over medical procedures and research (stem-cells and abortion)
- They still want drugs to be illegal (and therefore have an over-bloated and over-reaching police force)
- They still try to censor books
- They still want to control what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedrooms

The list goes on. Enough is enough. When are Americans going to realize that this new batch of conservatives are doing everything in their power to destroy the Constitution and its ideals? When is America going to awake up and realize that this new batch of Conservatives are the anti-thesis of every value this country has?

And Howard is right on a second count: Michael Powell, though put on the FCC (an appointed body, not elected. . .answerable only to the President which decided on its own back in the 1980s that radio and television are the only to parts of American life not protected by the Free Speech provision of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution) by President Clinton, got just position on the FCC and became head under Bush* simply because of his Daddy!

Same reason Bush* got his oil companies, his "honorable" discharge, his appointment to the TANG and his purchase of the Texas Rangers, which I might add did horribly under his ownership (much like his oil companies, the State of Texas and this country under his "presidency."). Powell wouldn't know merit based accomplishment if it came up and bit him on his backside!

Unfortunately that might be too much information for those that choose willful ignorance or get too caught up in their single issue madness.
I won't comment on spelling or grammatical errors, I wouldn't want to be considered "elitist", but I do respect knowledge, intelligence, and education. (but not more than hard work and skills)
