BALTIMORE - Sinclair Broadcast Group, the conservative media company that reportedly ordered its stations to run a documentary highly critical of presidential candidate John Kerry just weeks before the presidential election, has ties to the adult industry — its CEO once ran a company that specialized in processing pornographic 8mm films.

I never said there was anything wrong with being involved in porn - which is what those 8mm loops were in their day. Most of them would seem tame now.

I just think it is hypocritical to be involved with the party who would shut down the entire adult industry, when you used to be in it yourself.

More recently, Smith was in the public eye when the Baltimore Sun, the Washington Post and Variety reported that a police officer arrested him on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute in a Sinclair-owned Mercedes in August 1996. A spokeswoman for the Baltimore city state attorney's office said Thursday she could not find the outcome of Smith's case.

At the time, a company spokeswoman said: "The allegations against Mr. Smith are of a personal nature and do not relate to the business of the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Mr. Smith is charged with a misdemeanor, involving an alleged consensual act with an adult woman." The spokeswoman said the company would "continue to operate under the direction of its current management."

They have a huge chain of tv stations and are using them to put out Republican garbage and lies.

These are all local tv stations that use our public air-waves.
