Poll question: Is there an AIR AMERICA station in your area?
Close enough that you can get it on your radio?

If so, do they play Mike Malloy's show?

Here in San Fancisco, it seems that they don't. On KQKE, they play Ed Schultz, who I find unlistenable for any amount of time, then shuffle Randi. I could be wrong, but I've never heard Malloy. I don't think they play Chuck D and Liz's show (although they may in the early AM)

I wonder if Malloy is being systematically censored for being so - different.

I think every station should play him - and repeat him!

1. I listen to AM 1230 in Columb us and on XM when on the road...
I have no idea about Malloy because I never listen at that time of day. The show I hear the most is Morning Sedition.

3. We're losing ours....
....right after the election.

WLVP (870 AM) is switching to ESPN Sports Radio 24/7.

Since sports radio is all crypto-Republican this is worse than a wash, it's a net reduction.

9. They changed their minds re: WLVP
http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/news/local/041002airamerica.shtml

Supporters of Air America have won their battle to keep the liberal talk radio network on the air in Maine.

Officials at Nassau Broadcasting reversed their decision to drop Air America from Portland station WLVP (870 AM) after about 150 people showed up at a public event Thursday evening.

4. No AAR in Los 'freakin' Angeles, the
freakin' entertainment mecca of the world! I stream it. We had AAR for about a month when they first started, then it went 'poof' and has been gone ever since. I've stopped paying attention to the rumors that we'll get a local station soon.

It's not the same time as on the computer. They don't have a website, so I don't know the schedule.

What time's it on?

16. KQKE runs Malloy at 10PM
the same as East coast time. Since it's delayed, you might as well listen to the online version if you want to call in. Unfortunately, KQKE puts Malloy up against Bernie Ward, but that gives me more options when commercials are on.

that time and radio stations forgot. We're lucky if we can get the 50,000 watt AM station in Albany (Schenectady actually). Thanks to the joys of multipath distortion I haven't listened to an FM station in my apartment for almost a decade.

Thats the list,of course none in Kansas or due north or south which most always goes Repuke in the elections. Looks like the AA stations are in blue states or close swing states. Might have to look at Sirius, they'll never be on the air here in Kansas.

Reception is fairly good in my truck during daylight hours, but I can't get it at all in my office. At night, it's drown out by Spanish-language stations, possibly from Mexico.

17. I am SOOOO glad we've got it.
I used to listen to KNRC during the short time it existed and had liberal morning and evening drive hosts. Then, they changed to two conservative drive-time hosts, and soon after went off the air altogether. I couldn't stand their conservative crap hosts, so stopped listening then, but I really missed having talk radio on my commutes.

Thank goodness for AAR. The only shows I've heard so far are Morning Sedition and Randi Rhodes, and occasionally, a few minutes of Al over my lunch hour. I know Garafalo's show is on late night, and someone else (no Malloy) midafternoon. I don't think I've ever heard an ad for Malloy though.

15. Smaller market here
And yet we have two friggin' right wing talk stations. At 11, O'Lielly and limpballs are going head to head. Bill Bennett, some clown named Gallagher, O'lielly, savage/weiner, and on the other station, local(lame), Dr. Laura, limpballs, another local(full of shit) hannity, and Michael Reagan. Yech. I even called the station manager at the O'Lielly station and pointed the only time they get any ratings is when they do Cub games so maybe they should get AAR, he said the home office was sticking with their plans for the station.

19. I marked "Other"
I live near Mike's hometown of Atlanta, and Atlanta does have an AAR affiliate, 1190AM. However, that station has a signal that can best be described as "piss-ant", and it completely drops off the map after sundown when their license requires that they reduce transmitter power.

So, I do have AAR here, but not when Malloy or the Majority Report are on. I don't have any trouble getting any of the other shows, however.
