I just watched an interview with David Kay on CNN
and he's saying that RDX and HMX are easy to obtain and because of this it's not really significant that the insurgents have apparently stolen the whole cache. He completely ignores the significance that such a large quantity of dangerous material wasn't properly secured and reported stolen once it was discovered. He uses examples of Iran and North Korea having it as a way of playing down the significance of the insurgents having it, but what kind of example is that!? There is a world of difference between sovereign nations and a guerrilla group, it more than frigging apples and oranges! This is total crap! I don't normally think of Kay as someone with an agenda, and in fairness he said it was very dangerous and powerful material, but it sounded to me he was shilling for the repukes! :grr:

1. What a crock! Read the Salon article "Tip of the iceberg."
BTW, I just forked over $25 to photobucket for a yr of unlimited storage and no banner ads.

2. easy to obtain... yep
pretty routine stuff, you can pick it up in small quantities at the local Walmart

I bet David Kay is one man who will be happy Bush is voted out so he won't have to be trotted out anymore to give credibility to the evil chimp

3. The problem is if he wasn't downplaying this,
he wouldn't be on CNN. Conservative News Network and MSGOP are RW with a little sprinkle of Kerry when they have to. I stopped watching them all.

4. The more I think about the lame example he used
the more I think that he really just wanted to say 'The bush administration and the US army command screwed up. Plain and simple.' I know that most of the guests they drag on to the show spin things one way or another, but I was hoping that he would be immune to all the spin and lay things out as they are. Oh well.

5. Please don't make the mistake of expecting the cable news
networks to be fair. You will only be disappointed. It is a shame they are ALL owned by the RW.

6. I don't expect them to be fair, I just expect them to occasionally have
someone on that isn't biased. It relay has gotten old. I rely on the BBC (along with other British publications), and Al-Jazeera for my news. All a damn sight better than the 'liberal' media.

8. I think it just disappeared once news organizations
became more interested in making money than reporting the unvarnished truth. It's annoying as hell to have to deal with people always saying 'well I saw this thing on CNN last night and it said . . . ' I'm now skeptical of everything I see in the news, no matter who it's from. I don't accept something controversial until everyone is reporting on it, and sometimes not even then. I just hope that they become more balanced after Kerry wins, but I doubt it.

9. I sadly agree.
Maybe Ted Turner could get CNN back. Until then, Internets and CSPAN for me. The corporations that own CNN and MSGOP are powerful but we gave Sinclair some trouble, didn't we?! That was fun.

10. Yes, we did give them hell, didn't we? :)
I have hope that things may change for the better, but until then we just have to keep on trying to take back the media.

11. And They Got It For Free
Don't forget, they would have had to buy it from North Korea, this way it was free.

13. If it wasn't such a big deal
Then why was the stuff even being monitored by the UN? Kay knows better than this.
