I need links to refute points made by a wingnut.
First thing I need to debunk is Bush's judicial nominees and appointments. Does anyone know any good links to get the lowdown on these people? Their positions, their hypocrisies?

Next point is in regard to "UN directly involved in the decision making of our country"?

Then there's this "Either way, the one who becomes our next Commander in Chief, will be there according to the will of God, just because He won't interfere with our freewill." I'm not sure if I should bother with that one.

this next one is intriguing: "Yes, there can and hopefully will be quieter times, but as long as mankind exists spiritually separated from God, there will never be peace between nations. The only exception being the "peace" offered by the deceiver himself. But this semblance of world peace will be a cover up for the ultimate deception."

Sounds like * doesn't it? There must be plenty of links that would reinforce that one.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

1. First, we, the United States, created the United Nations
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 09:48 PM by joefree1
... after the US helped to poo poo the League of Nations before it.

As for all the god stuff let our founding fathers say a few words:

"Persecution is not an original feature in any religion, but it is always the strongly marked feature of all religions established by law."
-- Thomas Paine

"When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one."

-- Benjamin Franklin

"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What has been its fruits? More or less, in all places, pride and indolence in the clergy; ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."

-- James Madison

"I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved -- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced."
-- John Adams

"They believe that any portion of power confided to me, will be exerted in opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly: for I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility, against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. But this is all they have to fear from me: and enough too in their opinion."
-- Thomas Jefferson

Hint: Look up judge Charles Pickering. That one guy is enough to disgust you.

UN directly involved in the decision making of our country.

That's wrong. The UN has no jurisdiction over the internal affairs of any nation-state. It's main purpose when it was founded was to basically prevent WWIII and to arbitrate disputes between nations, not fiddle over who that nation's people decide to elect.

"Yes, there can and hopefully will be quieter times, but as long as mankind exists spiritually separated from God, there will never be peace between nations. The only exception being the "peace" offered by the deceiver himself. But this semblance of world peace will be a cover up for the ultimate deception."

I don't really disagree terribly much with his first sentence. If by "spiritually separated from God" he means things such as greed, hate, pride, etc. being the primary motive of certain people in the world, yeah, there will always be the potential for war. Monsters do exist in our world. It's those who put power, profit, and control ahead of human life.

I can only guess by the second sentence that he means an uneasy peace such as the Cold War or the peace in the 1930s Hitler offered to the rest of Europe when he said that he was merely reasserting Germany's rightful place in the world instead of seeking aggression.

4. About the UN
How can they be directly involved in the decision making of our country when we have veto power over any resolution? In that case, the US is the one making decisions for other countries.
