What would happen if somebody showed up at a pro-life rally with a sign |
|
that said:
"Ban In-Vitro Fertilization - The Barbabric Practice is Responsible for the Deaths of 6 million Babies Since 1982. The Ecstatic Joy of the Parents is Rivaled Only By the Sheer Brutality of the Procedure"
Besides being probably asked to leave, what do you think would happen?
The numbers pulled off the web in random but legit sites:
200,000 babies born in-vitro since 1982 30.7% success rate 10 eggs fertilized per attempt
These fertilized eggs, in pro-life terms, are children; thus this is murder since they are discarded or frozen. (Italy actually has drafted legislation on this...)
This is the proverbial slippery slope, where do you draw the line.

1. You mean, you're going to ask them to think? |
|
They don't do that smack. They only do what they're told.
(Great approach, BTW.)

4. I'm not sure if a single-issue voter has that capacity... |

Let's put Bush back in the Whitehouse so he can (once again) pay lip service to abortion but drop bombs on fully grown human beings.
If you alleviate poverty, you alleviate abortions. But Bush has always been looking out for the little guy...

You brought up a very good point. I have observed that many fundamental "conservative" issues are full of these slippery slopes.
