We need to import some British journalists to the US, pronto!
I'm watching a BBC news 24 program called Hard Talk, and a female journalist (Zeinab Badawi) is interviewing Tommy Franks, and is BRUTALLY ripping into him over the failures of gulf war II. She has directly accused him multiple times of failures under his command, and is VERY in his face about everything. This isn't some cushy interview where he can spout a line of BS. This is great to watch. Why can't we have journalists like this in the US? I'll update this thread once they update the BBC site to include the video of the interview, which should be later today (the 28th).

1. Any foreign journalists would be better then the people we have....
...passing themselves off as journalists here. Even hardrock Tweety has been lobbing softballs for the past year.

5. Well, I still love Christianne Amanpour, but
I have noticed that she isn't being used much anymore. I guess she refused to compromise her journalistic integrity.

9. We need an honest news channel to carry her stories
as well as many others that aren't being shown on our news channels these days.

2. Amen to that, brother!
The Brits certainly know how to hold down the people in power and get them to answer tough questions.

6. I LOVE British Parliament coverage
their political debate is so lively and great to watch. I love it how Blair and the opposition leader . . . dang, Mr. whats-his-name refer to each other as "the honorable gentleman". To hear the MP's hooting at each other is my favorite.

10. Tommy Franks was directly responsible for that ammo dump ...
where all the high explosive was left unsecured. Franks is a yes-man for the Bush cabal and a COWARD !

13. What we need is the BBC...........there ARE journalists here....
but they have no place to show their work (Except, of course, DU, Atrios, TalkingPointsMemo, etc)
