1. I will be
When I started coming here, it was brought about by ABB. In fact, I was a big proponent of Clark's run for the nomination. My background was as a moderate conservative from the UK, recently moved to the US. However, the more I read on this site, the more I learnt, about not only democratic principles, but also about John Kerry, and even more important, about the kind of people who post here. In short, my kind of people, those who search for truth, accountability and still believe in the ideals of democracy.
I guess you could say, I've been converted. But now I'm actively involved in the democratic party in my hometown and I hope to stay involved too.

3. I am very curious, was it hard switching to our election system
from the one you were used to? I mean in the sense of there being only being two major parties and a congress rather than a parliament. If you could make one system more like the other, what would you change about them?

2. ABB Dem voting
On November 3, it becomes Re-Elect Nelson to the Senate. Beautiful darling Katherine had 2.2 million for her Congressional race. RNC kept her out of this one, but she is already running against Nelson. So it is ABBCruella.

world. DUers are well-informed and say what you will about conspircay theorists, the collective brain power of this group of people has come up with some plausible scenarios that I never would have thought of.

Also, though, I feel the need to stay around and point out when the Kerry Admin seems like it's leaning too far right on certain policies. ;) And keep on promoting election reform and progressive Christianity.

Hmmm, in other words I apparently will remain at DU and change absolutely nothing I do despite the change in Administration. *lol*

Thanks for asking! :D

11. Not as much I'm sure..
I have two small children I've been ignoring the last week.

This place is addicting though. I agree w/ Green Party Voter - the collective thoughts here are amazing. I'm hooked b/c I believe a lot of the DUers will bring about change to the media. Bloggers are going to be a big influence! And hopefully crappy news channels that prey on Scott Petersen trial watchers will be brought out as a non-credible source.

That said - I am becoming much more a Kerry fan since the debates. I'm hoping to find more appeal for Edwards (no flame please - he just wasn't my first choice)

criminals must be brought to justice so that our democracy is safe from fascist totalitarianist dictatorship.

The media needs to be balanced.

Electronic voting needs to be scrapped, and nationwide pen and paper balloting instituted.

If we do not take care of these problems, republican fascism will quickly rear its corrupt, ugly head, and it will be deja vu all over again in 2008.

13. Registered Dem, but voted Green.
I voted for Kerry, Murray, Baird and Gregoire (Pres, Sen, Rep, Gov) but did get in a couple of Green votes for Lt. Gov. and Atty Gen.

I'll probably stick around to push for a viable leftist 3rd party.

As I see it, Kerry (if elected) won't be able to get us out of Iraq and will have to make other compromises to get anything done. This will frustrate and anger the left and will open the door for a 3rd party.

If Goober gets it, there will be anger towards the DLC/DNC who managed to lose the election and, again the opportunity to form a truly progressive coalition and 3rd party.

It's waaaaaay past due.

16. Yes, a Kerry win is just a foot in the door.
We have a lot of work to do to bring sanity back to the American people who have been duped by the well funded Republican think tanks and the pandering winger politicians and power brokers.

For starters, debunking the Laffer curve as an excuse for an economic policy. Tax cuts are not and never will cure our problems. All that trickles down are the crumbs brushed off the tables of the big corporations and the wealthy families.

Addressing the wedge issues in a pragmatic way must be a priority. We need to regain a sense of community that unites Americans in understanding the things that bring us together are not primarily specific religious and cultural values, but human values. Our community is defined and shaped by the way we treat each other. And right now, it doesn't look so good.

17. absolutely ...
to be fair, i am currently a "dem folk" ... after the election, either the Democrats move to the left or i'm looking for a new party ... in times where we have right-wing control, i'll continue to support democrats ...

but faced with the choice between a moderate democrat and a moderate republican, i might rather work for a third party candidate ... right now, i'm in the process of learning more about the Democratic Socialists of America (http://www.dsausa.org/about/where.html) ...

as for DU, i think it will be far more interesting here AFTER the election ... i look forward to a broadening of the discussion away from the narrow focus of presidential politics ... i have real hope that Kerry will finally realize that if no one confronts the corporate state, the citizens ultimately will have no real power ...

if Kerry wins, I'll say a hearty "congratulations" to the DLC for their POLITICAL strategy and then I'll work like hell to kick them out of town ... we don't need no stinking centrist policies ...
