Personally, I think 'The Nation's' Marc Cooper is a Putz... |
|
His passive aggression, whining about attacks levied against the right - as if anyone left-of-center should have to put up with lies and distortions spewed forth by the GOP. He's a brilliant example of a spineless lefty, he reminds me of Tom Daschle or Alan Colmes. He needs a slap upside the head.

For those of us less proficient in all the alpha-capitalizations...
Would that be "the Democratic Leadership Council"? Those guys that made it to the top during the Clinton years, by sometimes being more Republican than the Republicans themselves, in the name of "pragmatic centrism"?
Not to name names, but wasn't that pretty much the norm for most of the DNC (Democratic National Committee) crew, Terry McAuliffe and that posse?
Whatever happened to them? Back in the days when The Shrub himself was trying to copy the strategy, proclaiming himself (as he once did, however incredible it now seems) an advocate of a "humbler foreign policy", without "nation-building initiatives"?
Apropos of nothing, I was poking around on a troglodyte, neo-conservative republican website today, and they were actually selling bobble-head dolls of Arnold Schwartenneger, in a plastic skirt and high heels... The girly-man namer was himself too "pinko" and "limp-wristed" for the red-blooded loonies at michaelsavage.com.

2. What is it with the DLC'ers? |
|
Did they have their spines removed at birth or were they just born without brains--or is it both?

4. I use to hear him complain that Clinton was not liberal enough |

I use to listen to him on Pacifica when I lived on the Central Coast and he was always saying that Clinton was to far to the right and talked a lot about Pinochet.

5. Marc Cooper used to be kind of a socialist in the early 80's |
|
he pretty much ran things at KPFK. later on he joined up with the Nation and he has taken on a kind of weird I-don't-want-to-piss-off-the-wrong-guy stand on everything.
I hate it when these asses slam Kerry, because Kerry is probably the closest guy to the left that they have had a chance to get in their lifetime, and they foolishly blow him off.

7. I just put my finger on something that's |
|
been bothering me for a while.
People who aren't as far left as some of the people here aren't centrists; they're spineless. It isn't a difference of values or beliefs, but one of toughness. Apparently the further left you go, the more spine you have -- there's a scientifically demonstrated correlation.
Ralph Nadir must have the biggest balls of all, or the most spine, or whatever makes one tough. The rest are cowards.

8. Bill Clinton wasn't spineless. |

JFK wasn't an avowed leftist and he wasn't spineless.
I have problems with those nearer to the "center" who don't stand firm on their liberal positions and prefer to placate Republicans.

Name the positions that these "spineless" people haven't stood by.

Evil more than spineless. His "kind" is there to corrupt rather than make progress. His position and role in the Pacifica crisis pretty much spells out his agenda and true character. He is not the only one. Many higher profile purported "progressives" in positions of media power are simply plants.

Because I agree with what he has to say - unlike Cooper. Was he arrogant, crabby, just an all around jerk?

He came to Asheville as part of Jim Hightower's Rolling Thunder tour. First of all he was late and didn't apologize or give an excuse. He read some excepts from "What Liberal Media" then took some questions. He was very condescending with his answers and at one point broke into a fake southern drawl to answer the questions.
The next day at the festival, he showed up late again and was just a jerk to everyone around him. Very prima donna like.
