My contingency plan...
“My son/daughter, I have taught you everything I know.
The knowledge of math, reading, and critical thought were the beginning, but I have also taught you the principles of American government as outlined by the Constitution.
I have taught you the many varied viewpoints of the many political parties that have ranged the American timeline.

I have taught you what it means to be conservative and take care that you do not stretch yourself beyond your means. I have taught you what it means to be liberal and to reach out to others who will form the network of great nations.

I have taught you the history of all the great nations of the world.
I have taught you the achievements of all great men and women from before Jesus and long after Hitler.
And, with both great reserve and magnificent pride, I have taught you the skills of the martialist.
You have learned the way of Sun Tzu and the Senryaku. You have studied the battlefield conduct of U.S. Grant and Gen. Jackson, of Napoleon, Rommel, Patton, all the great Generals and warrior-poets including N. Schwartzkopf, and even the bright but subservient C. Powell.
I have taught you Kodokan, Hung-Gar, SF hand-to-hand training along with the best marksmanship, survival and tactical-ops training in the world.

I have taught you the strength of spirit of the Samurai and the Native Americans.

I have never been so proud as when I watched you race through the forest track on your 450X to take first place… it was then that I knew you had the focus of a true warrior.

I have taught you acting, cryptography, riding and piloting.
You have learned savoir-faire, psychology, diplomacy, and economics.

I am sorry that you only had a few years to explore the world of your peers.
But I see you understand now.

I have given you everything I am, but you are so much more.

I have taught you to be like our leaders, to emulate them.
I have taught you to understand their motives.

Tonight, my son/daughter, you must turn me over to the State for my discrepancies.
I will be tried for my writings and convicted of treason.

You must show melancholy but stolid resolve at my execution.

From there you will begin your task…

God bless you my child, in your long task to bring an end to the injustices of this, the most reckless government in the history of humanity."

1. I'm more of a minimalist
I'll just tell my children the following:

"When you were five, Daddy bought you a beautiful pony for Christmas. The Republicans chased it and killed it."

The rest should take care of itself. :)

:)

{On Edit}- I do hope they garner their resources accordingly.
If this administration wins by crook - we got bigger problems than ponies turnin' into glue.

3. I really do keep things simple when possible.
I say let's get through the election first, and then see where we are. I just don't worry too much. It's not my nature.

Now, off to enjoy another delicious ponyburger. Yum!

5. Tee-hee
I'm an independent! :) I'll be voting straight Democrat this election, and possily future elections, but I haven't been a Democrat for quite some time. (I was a Republican once upon a time, too.)

6. Damn... I'm feelin' ya man.
Raised a real Republican; I've been seeing some very un-Republican folks in the White House lately.

They sure the hell ain't conservatives either.

This is going to get ugly.

7. I would think that real Republicans would object...
...to what the neocons have done to their party. Hell, I quit the Republicans when Reagan was in office and it became painfully apparent that balanced budgets were a mere rhetorical point.

Socially, I'm liberal as one can get and stay sane. I'm for gay marriage or whatever else adults want to do that affects no one else. It's not my business.

And speaking of business, one of the major problems in America today is the emphasis on job creation rather than small business creation. People who are used to being the boss can probably run things better than people who are used to kowtowing to the boss. That's just my opinion, though.

I also think that trade has been grossly misused by politicians and BIG business.

I reckon I'm just a political mess...by American standards. :)

8. Agreed
I'm a social moderate-to-liberal and an economic conservative.

I like to shoot and am a gun collector, but to many raging idiots own guns.
Let people do what they want if they're not hurting anyone.
"An ye harm none, do as ye will." I say.

We need to fix the trade deficit with new manufacturing and soon.
I don't want to wait for a weak US dollar to fix it.

I hope Kerry will get tough on corporate tax loop-holes.
