I thought that Democrats had registered more new voters in Ohio than the Republicans. Yesterday, Bill Richardson, the governor of New Mexico said the Republicans had registered the same number of new voters as the Democrats. Has the Democratic Party registered more new voters than the Republicans, or is Governor Richardson right when he says the numbers are the same.

it's all over the papers up here in Ohio. The movement to get people registerd by democrats is unprecidented in Ohio's history. How do I know? you ask, well, I have been part of it. And let me tell you, there are a lot of pissed off people at this administration and they all plan to vote.
A good majority of the new registrations are Independant or Democrat, few new Republican registrations.

4. You don't register as a Republican or Democrat in Ohio. |

...so there's no way to positively classify new voters before they vote. From an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer I read a few weeks ago:
New registrations in historically Republican districts are up 58%.
New registrations in historically Dem districts are up 250%.
Seems good to me...

6. I should have been more clear. |

You don't declare party affiliation in Ohio when you register to vote (so there's no way to tell which party is registering more voters that way) was what I should have said.
