2. A Better One

Was in last Saturday's Orlando Sentinel. Wish I could find it, but I don't think they put it on line. He was holding this woman's hand in both of his and close to his chest. He was looking at her with such sincerity and compassion. Really touching.

I've wanted for MONTHS that someone do a thread of the contrast. I'm an old lady DU Luddite and can't manage it, however it IS my contention that folks need to SEE the pix. John Kerry knows how to take a kid from a parent, hold him/her securely and establish his OWN relationship with the child. They respond to him naturally, feeling secure with a stranger. *Dimson hands 'em off squirming and crying pratically EVERY TIME. PARENTS, WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU??? SECURITY??? :eyes: I ALWAYS trusted my kids' take on folks with whom they were not familiar when they were toddlers. THEY WERE NEVER WRONG. N-E-V-E-R.

the baby's still in the wriggly stage where he needs a little cradling and Bush has him held out there with no support and his little neck all arching back. I've often thought the notion of handing babies to a political candidate as if the fellow were Santa is a bit curious, this pic illustrates why. Yet the kids look pretty well supported in Kerry's arms--analogy, anyone?
