Holy Crap! What Is Going Down in Mosul?

All of this talk about storming Fallujah and Ramadi and no mention of how things are going in Mosul among other places. Well from the looks of things the folks there are pretty pissed. The US has a lot of pacification to do before January... :(

Those poor people. From Juan Cole's blog I get the distinct impression that the US is in control of nothing in Iraq except perhaps the air. I think it is way past time to bring the troops home.

Several car bombs hit two U.S. military patrols in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, killing an Iraqi and wounding 10 others including five U.S. soldiers on Friday, a U.S. military spokeswoman said.

The first explosion ripped through a U.S. convoy in the south side of the city, killing an Iraqi civilian, and wounding three others together with two U.S. soldiers, Captain Angela Bowman said.

especially on the Highway of death, the Baghdad airport highway because we don't have enough troops (no surprise there!). The US media refuses to report this stuff, too damaging to chimpass*.
