the whole thing just doesn't make any sense ...

what does make sense is that the bushies needed to change the subject ... Kerry had 3 or 4 great days keeping bush on the defensive over the explosives debacle ... this is classic Rove ... if you can't beat them, change the subject ...

so what would the point be in releasing this tape? to speak directly to the American people so that we temper our policies in the Middle East and tone down our support for Israel?? that's the point ??

this would be at least somewhat credible if we had been hearing this message over and over and over both before and after 9/11 ... when "terrorists" choose to influence policy, they blow up buildings and behead people ... i just don't think this is the al Qaeda modus operandi ...
