say that Kerry wins.
Which repug do you think will run in '08?
Don't say John McCain...his career is pretty much circling the drain as we speak.

1. can't say for sure right now |

It will depend on if the moderate/conservative Republicans can get control back from the neocon/far right wing.
If the neocons are still in control, look for Shrub clone....a front man who will let the neocons have the reigns of real power.
If the moderates win, then it would probably be someone who has stayed at arms length from Shrubco, someone in the mold of the "governator".

two (failed) one-term Bush presidencies would put the ultimate kibosh on any other Bush getting the nomination.

19. Jeb has already said he wouldn't run in 2008... |
|
He has said it in many interviews. Here' one: ABC News: Jeb Bush Rules Out 2008 White House RunHonestly I don't think he'll ever run for President. And as a Florida resident that thought comforts me to no end.

13. They'd have to change more than law. |
|
They'd have to amend the Constitution since it prohibits foreign born citizens from that position.
I hope they try. It'd be the end of the GOP if they tried to get the son of a nazi into office.

You know, the guy in Ohio. I wonder if they haven't promised him a cherry spot in the admin -- we've heard rumors there are certain members of the current cabinet who won't be continuing if Shrub wins anyway. If he loses, Blackwell stands a good chance of at least being on the ticket -- he's reasonably attractive if you don't know his soul is full of maggots, he's glib and speaks well, he's religious, and he's African American. Not only that, but he's eating his liver to try to hand them Ohio this year. Even if he fails, I bet they've promised him something. The fact that non-DUers (and probably plenty of DUers) won't know that he's the turd who tried to suppress the minority vote in Ohio in 2004 is the thing that will make him a viable presidential or vice-presidential candidate, and the GOP would have the bonus of having a minority on the ticket.
Now, if we ran Barack Obama agin' him, Blackwell would be roadbed, but if Kerry wins, would we refuse him the opportunity to take a second shot at it?
I don't know -- Ohio-shaped tinfoil hat over here. I've said it before -- I want to get in my car right now and drive to Columbus with a pound of table salt, throw it on Ken Blackwell and see if he dissolves like the rest of the slugs.

Give him some major Senate time. I've no doubt we'll be seeing him do a Presidential run 2012 or 2016. That guy has got his head on straight, though.

He could take down a Ken Blackwell like flicking a gnat. I don't know that they'd do that for Blackwell ... but he's sure danced their dance, and gone against the history of his heritage in ways few people but say J.C. Watts and Alan Keys could possibly understand.

consider that since 1976, either a Bush or a Dole has been on every Repuke ticket, the epic battle for control after the * loss will be interesting political theatre...I'm guessing Chuck Hagel will be in the mix some way....
