6. No ...

A Naderite, which at this point doesn't make him a lot different.

He's donated to Kerry/Edwards but has held on to this "not much different between the two" kind of thinking.

Out to lunch.

...or something to that effect.

Wussy? I guess so, he suggested he's voting Kerry.

Field of Dreams

I like Costner a lot but he has had some lousy roles to play

Dances with Wolves was the most brilliant "Native American" film since "Little Big Man"

Everyone was great except Kev. He sounded so - out of place - and stupid.

My fave scene was when the evil prince stuck the knife into his aide for screwing up. Wasn't that the same actor as Snape?

I saw the show, he did sound a bit toasted, and I loved how Maher was protecting Coulter from snide remarks from his friend. a good show, over all.

Shrill, Rush Limbaugh type female (whom some find attractive) "pundit".

Tell ya the truth, I don't even know if she believes half of what she writes or says. She gets paid for it; there is no denying she has been well packaged and marketed for the niche she is designed to appeal to.

She might just be the first cyborg.

And I don't think he's stupid at all, he's just uninformed and self-absorbed like many Americans. They continue to think it's politics as usual because they aren't seeing so much of the scary anti-democratic excesses of the right wing Republicans in power. They won't believe it until it knocks them upside the head. Then it will be too late.

35. Actually, he said things like
He was tired of Iraq dominating the conversation when people in America are slipping between the cracks.

We knew in 1973 we needed to give up our dependence on foreign oil (which he compared to crack). We got a man to the moon in less than 10 years ... maybe we could have an oil free car in 20 ...

There are too many guns. Guns themselves aren't bad but there are too many of them.

What happened to the envirornment in this campaign?

A lot of what he said made sense to me, and I think Wes Clark gave him thoughtful and powerful responses.

Look, people, to govern, Kerry and the Democracts must conduct was Wes termed "rational discourse" with people of opposing viewpoints. <hyperbole>I myself believe anyone who votes for Nader needs to be tracked down and whipped like an unhousebroken dog. ("WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, MAN????") </hyperbole> But these are views that are worthy of respect and consideration.

People, we need to get over ourselves a bit. But I suggest we wait a few days to work on that ... until this election is decided, kick ass all the way, and don't forget your black hoodies.

That's odd to see his donations consistently go to Democrats when he still believes the "Nader lie" that there's virtually no difference between the parties.

43. I think the show was good
I'm not going to vote for Nader because he isn't really representing any third parties. Voting for him won't help any parties trying to get in government. With the winner-take-all election system we have, it will nearly always be a choice between a Democrat or a Republican.

Honestly, I don't like that. I think a multi-party representative democracy is a step above a simple two-party duopoly. John Kerry says he can fight the Iraq War better than Bush can, but in my mind, I'm about to tip over towards leaning to the idea that the end result of this war is not something we're going to be terribly happy over.

I would like to see voices that also would honestly question whether it is even worth it to try to win by bludgeoning Iraqis into submission like what Bush is presently doing, to win a guerrilla war through sheer force and firepower in a population where the majority of them either hate us or want us gone. If it gets to the point where the only primary reason why Iraqis are fighting us is because we are on their land, in their cities, and in their lives, then I think it's time to withdraw and offer help in some other fashion instead of direct military force.

The discourse in the news media only encompasses a narrow band on the whole political spectrum, and I'd love to bust that open to include voices from all over. People like Nader could actually be used to shift the whole discussion to the left back towards a more progressive vision of the Democratic Party, the kind seen under the likes of FDR. Bill Maher is a rare breath of fresh air in the news media. Unfortunately, that kind of fresh air is too rare in US media.

54. Oh horseshit.
Did you even pay attention to him? If you listened to what he had to say with an objectionable mind, he was making loads of sense. I thought he was a breath of fresh air. Terrorism? There is no great, massive terrorism threat. Terrorism is fucking the enviroment up left and right with nobody paying attention. As tragic and awful as 9/11 was, their were only 3,000 +/- dead. Take the number of people that die everyday from drinking tainted water, breathing in toxic air, the list goes on and on.

I thought Costner was great. I LIKE Kerry, I really do. But what Costner was saying I agree with one hundred percent.

Kennedy took a balls to the wall approach and said we would walk on the moon in ten years. What if a leader said we should strive to get off this addiction to oil? Twenty years to ween America off this addiction? Never gonna happen with Kerry in office.

It seemed to me that Wes Clark was just auditioning for a cabinet spot with Kerry last night. Belzer was hilarious calling out Ann Coulter for what she truly is, a lying bitch that just wants to sell books.

George "Dances with the Facts" Bush.
