Poll question: Which Minority Group Will Be Elected President FIRST?
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 11:17 PM by The Nation
I'd guess a woman. (Hillary Clinton!!!)

Then an African American. (Obama?)

PS: I know women aren't a minority of the population, but politically speaking they are, sadly.

12. Hey, I like Kerry until he's elected...
He wasn't my pick in the primaries. If he doesn't give us a hard swing to the left and punish the traitors of this administration, I'm getting him right back out in four years.

2. For all we know, we may have already had a homosexual president.
Certainly not openly homosexual, of course. I think I would have heard about that! ;)

4. Obama!
Watching him at the convention, I said, "You are looking at the first black president of the USA!"

And then, I was surprised to hear several commentators say the same thing.

He's amazing! I live in VT and I sent him money!

Kerry On!

13. I'm afraid you misunderestimate the level of hatred for Hillary in
certain segments of the population. Wingnut co-worker can't stop railing about how evil she is. He has no sense of proportion. To him Dem = Liberal = Socialist = Communist = Anti-christ, and he equates Hillary with Stalin and Hitler.

It may be a woman, but I'm afraid it will never be Hillary. Which I think is a terrible shame.

Personally, I think it will be Obama. We'll see how he does in a few years when he's up against a real opponant. You know they won't let him be unchallanged for re-election. They will bring out the best talent, and worst tricks, they have to knock him down.

18. I think you're all deluded to think this country has come so far
that it will elect Obama. I will venture a woman, BUT a Republican woman. The country isn't ready for Hilary. Too much misogyny still extant.

Sorry, to sound like a party pooper.:evilfrown:

19. Here's the minority I'm hoping for...
a progressive liberal a la Kucinich, McKinney or Feingold.

Hoping for X minority to get into office is all about symbolism, which is meaningful to some, but not to me.

But if I had to play along, I would prefer:

first, a Jew (Feingold)

then, a black female (McKinney)

I'd rather have a real sincere liberal in office than a "mainstream" minority.
