I don't see how the new OBL tape helps Bush.
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 01:00 AM by UdoKier
OBL basically ridicules Bush for being asleep at the wheel and sitting on his ass for 20 minutes after he knew we were under attack. He says that if Bush had been alert, fewer would've died.

How does reminding people of Bush's incompetence help Bush?

Also, Kerry's response was exactly right "We Americans are unified in the goal of destroying OBL and Al Qaeda."

I think this thing is a net plus.

1. the bushturd's base has already made up their minds
that the bushturd is their heroic and fearless leader in the fight against the savage brown-skinned hordes of Islamic "turrists." Hearing criticism of him from the chief boogeyman of the aforementioned turrists doesn't change their view--fi anything it reinforces it. But it certainly reminds them of the "turrism" issue and presumably strengthens their flagging resolve to actually get off their dead asses and vote on Tuesday.

2. It doesn't. It hurts him and he knows it. His first comments about it...
...were tantamount to rolling over and showing Kerry his soft underbelly.

3. It's A Rallying Cry
but to his base mainly. Now it's also a confirmation of what Democrats and Liberals alike have been saying all along. Bush can not be trusted with any form of responsible.

4. Remember what he said in the debate?
Buzzflash has it up - "He doesn't think about OBL much." The gist of his comments were that he was not concerned with OBL.

take a look a Buzzflash for a reminder!

5. Viewed with a clear eye
the Iraq clusterfuck doesn't help him either. But it has, and it does, since it's the spin that wins, not what's really happening two inches from people's noses. Bush is "tough" and "resolute" in his bumblefuckery and that's good enough for a whole swath of an imbecilic electorate.

So, the guy Dubya promised to smoke out dead or alive just popped up, free as a bird, and insulted him and his daddy. Punked him. Hard. Can there possibly be a win in that? You betcha, look at them go!

We can only wait and see if the idiots fall for it.

6. It is a distraction
People were all talking about the missing munitions. Walter Cronkite on Larry King said he thought Carl Rowe was behind this.

8. His fundie base clings even more but who cares
They were on board already. Kerry voters are going to stick with him. And there are no undecideds AFAIC.
