right wing radio fills the airwaves in OH
i didn't realize how much right wing filth there is on the radio waves here in Dayton, oh. the freepers around me talk about rush, hannity, etc so i decided to check it out for myself. my goodness, it starts from the early morning and goes all the way into the late evening. what the hell is wrong with these people? why isn't there any left wing talk shows? how is this democracy when all people hear is one side? makes me wonder how the hell Kerry can win sometimes.

2. Yeah, there's really not much else on the AM band but hate radio.
There are a couple of oldies/R&B stations, and a lot of Christian stuff, but for the most part it's Clear Channel owned hate radio through and through. Even the local 'pundits' in Dayton and Cinci get their talking points from KKKarl.

I tried explaining this to people who aren't from Ohio, back when they were wondering why, as bad as Bush* has hurt the economy in Ohio, it was still so close. They don't know what it's like to have this crap drifting between your ears even when you don't elect to listen to it yourself. My boss listens to this crap all day in the office. I only have to hear it when I go in there, but five minutes of it is too much for me.

I still think Kerry could take Ohio, but it's not going to be with any help of our little corner here. We're at the band of the radius out from Cincinnati where Kerry may break even; he won't start winning counties until you get beyond greater Dayton, partly because people who drive a lot for work listen to the propaganda machine because it's most of what they have to listen to.

3. RW heaven is talk radio
but television is almost just as bad now, particularly the cable "news" channels.

Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 01:21 PM by maxsolomon
those who drive for a living: truck drivers, delivery men, construction workers. used to be the dem base, right? union members.

The repetition & sophistry are obviously very persuasive. Its turned my dad from a McGovern voter into a Bush DONOR.

Go Air America.

5. If Kerry wins, maybe they can re-instate The Fairness Doctrine?
Where one side cannot dominate the media.
